Pastor's abortion dream inflames bushfire tragedy

it seems everywhere I turn there seems to be a horrible scum bag, upon seeing people who are dying and suffering, uses it as a good time to slip in his stupid idiotic beliefs....have you heard about this dude.... check out this article

http://www.smh.com.au/natio...

apparently this dude thinks that god has destroyed 700 homes, and killed 300 people, cause Victoria ( a state in Australia i believe) passed an abortion law. As apposed to a more simple answer that say they've been having a drought for years that has dried up tons of timber, combined with some lightning and arson. Oh and of course the fires have killed christian people.

does that make sense to anyone? really? God hates people that much? I understand this isn't the view of most Christians. It just makes me angry and very grumpy that every time something bad happens these ignorant buffoons try to take advantage of other peoples suffering.

oh well off to my grumpy shenanigans! have a great day.

Gentiles were created to protect the Jews.

Hmm, I always thought I was created (in the grand scheme of things) to make more Gentiles...

When I was a kid we would have a Bible reading time after chores at the breakfast table conducted by our father. One morning my oldest brother asked dad if we were not second class in Gods Kingdom since we were Gentiles. Dad's answer was no.God had a plan for everything and even if sometimes confusing, the Gentiles were created to protect the Jews. He went on to say that every thing in existance has a purpose in Gods plan, even every grain of sand on all the beaches of all the seas.

If God had made us correctly to begin with, he wouldn't have to punish us to make us worship him.

Well, Audrey, you apparently skipped Genesis in the Bible. Things were just peachy until a serpent deceived our first parents into breaking just one little rule.

It must have sucked for you to have parents like that.

Likewise, RF, it must have sucked for you to have "cool parents" who very well may have sealed your eternal fate by allowing you to turn out as you have, let alone let you drink underage.

Iwonder of this little guy and creatures like her are going to "behave"?

Cruel, vindictive and rageful people would like you to believe that they speak for God.

And they do, having created him in their own image and likeness.

Now me, I'd prefer something a bit *BETTER* to look up to.

Don't even give them the satisfaction of your acknowledgement, let alone your consideration.  :)

I will never understand this kind of thinking~ and that makes me very happy.

I'm with you, sage. This guy is such scum. I would love to have someone ask why he didn't mention this "dream" before the fires...? I don't believe in god, but if I did, I would not want any part of a god as cruel as this moron describes. Why do people worship something they believe in their own hearts is cruel, vindictive and rageful?

Why wouldn't God be like any parent and punish his children out of love

Eternally?  It must have sucked for you to have parents like that.

.

After all, wouldn't you protect your kiddies from that bad man like the devil?

They're more worried about Santa Claus.  There was more objective evidence for *HIS* existence.

If by burned to death in a hellish inferno ,that moved at one time at the rate of 2 miles in five minutes= gods love or punishment. then...well no thanks.

Why not the old fiery angel or the hand writing on the wall? Seems far less showy...

Faulty workmanship, I say.

Why wouldn't God be like any parent and punish his children out of love so they could buck up and get on the right track? Sure, there's always the prodigal son who punishes himself back into redemption, but some just get too big for their britches and could use a dollop of humility one way or another. After all, wouldn't you protect your kiddies from that bad man like the devil? Good always arises from evil, just like gold does from a fiery crucible.

(((Ling))~ ditto here concerning religion. BTW the Red Cross is accepting checks or money orders for the disaster.

I stay AWAY from forums like this for a reason--as I explained to Mattock one night at DL....I respect ALL religions..yet I detest ALL...and it's not the religion--it's those that twists it into a reason for violence...and for that, I did what I had to do at a very young age...

Apollo KNOWS....'I have many rings around my trunk'....and I'll never forget the dream I had when I fell throughout time-and walking the gauntlet of warriors from the beginning of recorded time towards a light that can not be described...never seeing their faces and wondering if that wasn't me---all of me--throughout time...AND THE LIGHT---that I'll keep to myself......

But to each their own....I kneel to NO man..ONLY TO THE LIGHT..........

Kind of like saying Stalin represents atheism.

Which is done, regularly, by bloggers here.

Pray reconcile the concept of "hell" with the "god is love" myth.  Any Christians ready to jettison the dogma of hell in favor of "god is love" have my vote.  What percentage is *THAT?*  One percent?

.

"Belief in God" doesn't equal Christian.

Of course not.  I don't believe in god, but I am a Christian.

Zapped (take this gently as it is meant), the term is "tenet."  A "tenant" is a renter.

posted by zapped on Feb 10, 2009 at 11:55 AM

Which disproves that silly "god is love" contention.

1 crazy pentecostal preacher disproves a tenant of an entire faith? Kind of like saying Stalin represents atheism.

Random, as usual, you're confusing true Christian faith, with "religion". Apollo Dawn stated that maybe 5 to 8 percent of Christians (if one defines "Christian" very loosely), hold to this type of attitude.  I don't know about her percentages, but the gist of her comment is correct.

"Belief in God" doesn't equal Christian.

Every time there's a calamity with a body count, somebody cheerfully uses it to vindicate his religion.

Which disproves that silly "god is love" contention.

Every time there's a calamity with a body count, somebody cheerfully uses it to vindicate his religion. No doubt, the dinosaurs and the polar bears today did something to tick God off.

Funny, Spirit Daily posted an article a few days ago that should give the modernists who deny chastisements some fuel for thought: http://www.spiritdaily.net/...

"God hates people that much? I understand this isn't the view of most Christians. It just makes me angry and very grumpy that every time something bad happens these ignorant buffoons try to take advantage of other peoples suffering."

Most Christians?  No.

Five, maybe eight percent, at the very most.

And that's only if you define "Christian" very loosely.  One could argue that the number of truly spiritual Christians who feel that way is zero.

They tried to blame the San Francisco Fire on its immorality, too.

"If as some say god spanked the town
for being over-frisky
why did he burn his churches down
and spare Hotaling's whiskey?"

Jerry Falwell was of this ilk, too. He said that Hurricane Katrina was caused by passage of laws to protect gay rights.  ( As opposed to climate change, which is man made...)

Puh-leeze.
