Paulson now wants to also buy up bad credit card debt. TK says: idiotic.
Paulson now wants to also buy up bad credit card debt. TK says: idiotic.
Please read:
From: http://www.bloomberg.com/ap...
The U.S. Treasury submitted revised guidance to Congress on its plan a day after first submitting it, as lawmakers and lobbyists push their own ideas. Officials now propose buying what they term troubled assets, without specifying the type, according to a document obtained by Bloomberg News and confirmed by a congressional aide. The change suggests the inclusion of instruments such as car and student loans, credit-card debt and any other troubled asset. That may force an eventual increase in the size of the package as Democrats and Republicans in Congress negotiate the final legislation with the Bush administration, analysts said.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson has an MBA from Harvard and owns two houses. TKozy is some mundane individual who posts every five minutes on a Bakersfield, Ca. internet forum. pre·ten·tious [pri ténshəss] adj 1. self-important and affected: acting as though more important or special than is warranted, or appearing to have an unrealistically high self-image 2. made to look or sound important: intended to seem to have a special quality or significance, but often seeming forced or overly clever “dismissed it as yet another pretentious film” 3. ostentatious: extravagantly and consciously showy or glamorous

TK does not bow to no man. Or woman. And TK owns a home in Bakersfield and has considerable mineral rights in North Dakota. And while TK is not ostentatious. His daughters and Granddaughter are glamorous. In his lifetime. TK has the equivalent of 8.5 years of post high school education not including military training. posted by

Which all adds up to this conclusion: Henry Paulson is Secretary of the Treasury, and TKozy is a nobody who overloads the TBC forum with repetitive posts. posted by

All of which begs the question. Does the proposed bailout act to benefit the American people as a whole, or act to benefit those who have backed the current administration and to whom the current administration is beholden? If I make a stupid gamble in the financial markets, I have to bear the loss. If AIG makes a stupid gamble, then the government comes to the rescue. George W. Bush has been president for the last 8 years. He is the lamest of lame ducks. Now he wants to give a trillon or so of your dollars to help out his friends on Wall Street. Don't you think we should think hard and throughly analyze the situation before adding 10% or so to the national debt? To me Barney Frank is right, if the "smartest guys in the room" who have created this situation have gotten billions in bonuses, and it will cost the American people as a whole hundreds of billions to rectify the situation, then they should be forced to disgorge what they have taken. Privatize profit, nationalize debt. What a situation! posted by

Was reading in the paper this a.m.-and Congress isn't that eager about giving these companies hundreds of billions of tax-payers dollars to these CEO's that leave with their golden parachutes worth tens of millions of dollars....finally someone had the guts to say--" Whoa "--wait a minute....let's just slow down here and really think this through.... posted by

Call your congressman and beg them to not less this pass! If we are going to WASTE $1.8 trillion dollars (current estimate) we could solve our dependence on foreign oil and provide MILLIONS of jobs for Americans and not waste it on bailing out bankers on Wall Street! CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN NOW! What does Paulson know? Nothing! He has repeatedly been wrong on this whole crisis. He is wrong on this solution also. posted by

CALL YOUR SENATORS AND TELL THEM YOU WANT E-VERIFY REAUTHORIZED BEFORE THEY LEAVE THIS FRIDAY.IF THIS DOESN'T GET REAUTHORIZED THIS WEEK, COME NOVEMBER ALL THAT HAS BEEN GAINED BY STATES THAT HAVE ACTUALLY FOUGHT THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT ISSUE AND WON, WILL HAVE BEEN FOR NOT. MENDEZ FROM NJ WANTS TO ADD ANOTHER 550,000 FOREIGN WORKERS. IT IS IN FACT THE DEMOCRATS HOLDING THIS UP. HARRY REID IS FIGHTING TO KEEP IT FROM A VOTE. HE KNOWS THERE ARE ENOUGH DEMOCRATS THAT ARE FOR IT, THAT IF HE ALLOWS IT TO GO UP FOR A VOTE, IT WILL GET REAUTHORIZED. WHY DOES REID, PELOSI, FEINSTEIN, AND BOXER FIGHT SO HARD AGAINST THE AMERICAN WORKER? THIS ISSUE IS AT LEAST IN PART WHY WE ARE HAVING THE PROBLEMS WE ARE HAVING FINANCIALLY. YOU CAN REACH ANY SENATOR AT THIS NUMBER. ALL THEY WILL ASK, IS YOUR ZIP CODE . THEN TELL THEM WHAT IS ON YOUR MIND, 202-224-3121 posted by

Gopherbro, Let me remind you, that the Prez does not make laws or hand out the $$. That is the job of congress and it takes both parties to to get it done. your hatred for W has blinded you to reality. Get a grip, or at the very least educate yourself on the political process. posted by

Charlie, read my blog comment again. Nowhere did I suggest that President Bush could act unilaterally. (or at least act legally, if I was to blog about President Bush's illegal actions over the last 8 years, I'd be typing all day and all night). Certainly, Congress has to authorize the funding. That is why I said: "Don't you think we should think hard and throughly analyze the situation before adding 10% or so to the national debt?" posted by
