tkozy dear, on the subject of how DHCP (the protocol behind dynamic IP addresses) works, you are the one who is WRONG, DEAD WRONG. Ask anyone who administrates DHCP. The first thing you MUST do when setting up a server is define a POOL of IP addresses for the server to hand out. I never said TBC had a pool of banned addresses. I said TBC's banned addresses were tainting AT&T's pool of DHCP addresses for Bakersfield and, as time wears on, more and more of that pool will become tainted, assuming there is still another AT&T user in Bakersfield who keeps getting addresses out of that pool banned from TBC. The ONLY randomness involved in DHCP is randomly selecting one of the available IP addresses out of the POOL to hand out when someone requests one.

You strike me as the worst sort of troll: the one who believes he is always correct even when he's spouting lunacy. As to whether you do that just to bait people or whether you are truly so delusional as to think you know EVERYTHING in the world, I'll leave that up to a therapist to decide. I do find it hugely ironic that you accuse Nancy of being a cut-and-paste person when that's exactly what you do to "spout" knowledge. Really knowledgable people don't need cut and paste. They can internalize it and explain it in their own words. I sincerely doubt you have that sort of "expertise" in you.

You can't be as dense as you make yourself out to be. This has nothing to do with anything except which pool of IP's TBC banned IP's are returned to.

The pool of IP's that consists of TBC IP's is the international pool of IP's.  IP's of every ISP on earth. So that is the pool they must return to..

You have no idea which nation or which ISP will be the next IP banned. There may never be another SBC IP banned.

And the next ISP I log on from may be in another state at another ISP..

That's the facts. That's the randomness for which all calculations for this matter must be based.

The question of  the banned IP I received was left behind blog pages ago.

The question that Schwaine and I were addressing was the odds of any one person receiving a TBC banned IP.

The pool of TBC viewers is the world. Anyone in the world can view and join TBC. Therefore a banned IP could be from anywhere in the world.

In Fact I have viewed TBC from different states and have used a number of different IP's. Jason shows only 7 IP's,(the list he emailed me was 7), because that is all his software allows.   

Every time I log into  TBC with my cell phone I log in with a different IP. If I use my free SBC dial up connection I get a new IP each time. If I use my SBC wireless I get a new IP each time.

And SBC issues a random IP to my DSL on occasion. This is true of all users. And the Banned IP is available to all of those users. Not just me.

I have 8 computers and a cell. Each one of them can be logged onto TBC at the same time.

When considering the odds of getting a banned IP. You have to consider, Is it the same ISP as mine. Is it the same Region I am from. Is the banned IP free at the same time I am requesting a IP. I went through all the levels before. It is a randomness in excess of 6 levels. That makes the odd of receiving any banned IP enormous. On the order of winning the lottery. 

Now before I finish. I want to say that I have not instigated any of the back and forth between Schwaine and I . I have only responded to his  remarks on MY blog.

If there is any problem concerning this banter.

Take it up with Schwaine. He does not have to post at all.

You sir, are beyond all possible hopes of being educated because you refuse to acknowledge that you need an education in the first place.
