Why don't you chime in?
From looking at the Visitors List, it looks like there are a lot of lurkers out there. Since a person doesn't have to be logged in to lurk, I'm sure that there are many more out there. My question is; why don't you chime in to the blogs at hand? I'd like to know what you're thinking about what's being discussed. Do the subjects not matter to you? If that's the case, then post your own subject. Are you worried about being attacked by those who disagree with you? If this is the case, then I'd like to hear about it. We need everyone to voice their views. I know that I tend to disagree with many people on these blogs, but that doesn't mean that I find no value in their thoughts (well, most of them, anyway). There are a few on here, that require more work than others, to find that nugget of value in what they post. Still, the more people who chime in, the more interest I find in this blog. Please, your comments will be valued (if not always agreed with) by me and several others who post regularly. So far, nothing physical or personal has happened by posting on this blog. I'll admit it, Jason does a fairly good job at keeping things under control. Sometimes, I disagree with him, but SOMEBODY needs to be in charge, and he does pretty well at his thankless job of keeping us all safe from each other....... 6 comments from 5 users

The only problem I have is the immediate vicious attacks. Any thoughtful comment is immediately lost in the bickering and name calling. Nancy posted a joke for God's sake and the first response was that she was a racist. No thanks. I pop in from time to time to see what people are talking about and all that seems to be is attacking each other.

Far too many Nancy, as those of us who have been posting for a long time have discovered. As I mentioned to Tony we have lost many that showed promise because of this attack on any they label "conservative" especially. But these cowards seldom post anything of their own.

Sam makes me think and Nancy makes me laugh. Two things that I cannot live without. I have taken a name so my thoughts could be identified as mine and not be confused with another anonymous. It has been fun but I am going back to occasionally lurking.

tonyh, read this blog post http://people.bakersfield.c... and the ensuing thread and you will find the answer to your question. Many people have better things to do than to be called ignorant or uneducated simply because they choose to engage in a dialog in what Jason likes to call our blog community. Many of the regular posters seem to enjoy a seeming immunity to any redress for their eloquently veiled personal attacks. I use this example only because it is the most recent. Judge for yourself.
