I've had him jumping up and down on his Pogo Stick for almost two years now. He's busy, but he's not accomplishing much. Blogging accomplishes about as much as he does. That's the point with the Monkey. P.S. - I thought he'd be a little more acceptable to the General Public than an Elephant doing the nasty to a Football......................... posted by

So much hate? You must be a "conservative Christian"? What has Bush done (remember I voted for this clown)? This country now has 6 years for budget deficits of over $400 billion per year under the “fiscally conservative” right wing leadership. How can that be? I thought only liberals wasted money? WE now also have a $9 trillion dollar national debt and if you add in the unfunded entitlements of Social Security and Medicare that number balloons to over $40 trillion. We will spend $1 trillion in Iraq and our country (and borders) are no more secure than before 9/11! Why not bring the troops home and secure our borders? Lets spend that money on securing the borders and building our crumbling infrastructure (see New Orleans levees, Minnesota bridges, etc...)? Why are we sending $1 trillion dollars a year to countries that hate us (see Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, UAE, etc…) in exchange for oil? Is it because of the Bush and Cheney relationships with some of these countries? We are giving away our dollars and our security because big oil and its lobby refuse to allow for any alternative energy solutions. Forget Global warming, I think that is bogus, lets focus on getting over our dependence on foreign oil, which is making us dependent on terrorist states!posted by

I don't want us to spend 100 years in Iraq.I dont think other should lose their families for a cause that will not increase our national security. Spend that money here to secure our borders and improve our infrastructure. I should not use that in an debate (my father), however, my point is war should only be used when it is necessary. The costs are great both emotionally and financially.

It's funny to read or hear the Hannitys of the world and that fool Jaz, and their followers, talk about mindless followers and drinkers of kool-aid, when those who listen to these idiots carry the water for the extreme right on a daily basis. No flipping integrity in you at all. Stand up for something. You drinkers of the kool-aid don't even want the old man as the nominee, but you had not one good candidate to put out there! Why? Because not many people of substance wants to be dictated to by a few nuts! It's like a fanatical religion and they are much more likely to move to Guyana than anyone else! The Hannitys, Ingrahams and even that idiot Jaz all sing from the same hymn and if it weren't so funny, it would be frightening! This is exactly the type of mindless following of an ideology that will have you trying to hitch a ride on a comet. Believe!! Your own candidate had to go suck a@! at the recent conservative rally, begging for forgiveness for being himself! Pleading with a small minority in a party and even smaller minority in America, just to get the nod! All this talk, from these same idiots, about Obama's lack of legislative accomplishment or experience is an attempt to bring him down, so the GOP can run a withered old man, who can't even comb his own hair against Clinton, who they believe they can beat in the election. The GOP is afraid of Obama, plain and simple. What legislation has the old man initiated or signed on to that the extremists in the GOP agree with? I'll make it easier. What legislation has he initiated or signed? His big claim to fame? Being a flipping POW. How often is that put into a campaign speech or television/radio ad? Talk about an empty suit!

He got the Senate to consider seriously ethics legislation (which ultimately did not pass in that form.) He bucked his own party leadership to do so. He authored one of the first bills to address avian (and other pandemic) flu preparation. He focused attention on the *REAL* terrorist threat of loose nukes from the old Soviet Union, working with a Republican senator to do so. He voted against giving amnesty for telecom crimes and against torture (again, up in the air at this point.) Those are the types of things I'd like to see him re-address as President, with a stronger Democratic majority in the Senate. posted by

RF, Those aren't accomplishments. At best, they're actions. Some might be labeled failures. No, list out some ACCOMPLISHMENTS. Here, I'll help. 1) He wrote a couple of best selling books (I'm not sure what they're about). Those two best selling books would be accomplishments.

It was just a quick list. Ask me again after his first term. The Senate has been either dominated by Republicans or in deadlock by them for eight years. Obama has opposed many of the nitwit things that they allowed through. . Bush's list when he got elected was: crashed business after business and got elected to the third-highest office in the worst-governed state in the nation. .

Obama is not electable in America! The swiftboat is warming up its engine and ready to go. What you read about how dangerous and silly it is to think of an Obama for President is already being previewed on this thread, so just hang on. Before Obama’s opponents are through, Obama will be the second coming of Saddam Hussein, an empty suit, a Muslim terrorist and an anti-Christian bigot. The only choice left and the next President of the United States will be a geriatric in diapers whose main accomplishment is defense, something he learned while a guest at the Hanoi Hilton who will have us in Iraq 90 years after he has passed. God Bless America, we are still what we used to be. posted by

So, is this your way of saying that you can't list any accomplishments for Barack Obama? That's OK RF, you're in good company. Nobody else can either. There have been some REALLY, REALLY smart people asked that same question over the last couple of months, but none of them could answer it either........................................... ......
