Well, it looks like Aaron Youngblood still hasn’t learned to behave himself. At 22 years old, you’d think that he’d have enough respect for his Dad (in his new gig as Sheriff) to straighten up and stay out of trouble. Here’s the article in today’s paper: http://www.bakersfield.com/...
In a way, I feel bad for Sheriff Youngblood. As the top County Law Officer, it’s got to be embarrassing to have your Son picked up for Possession with intent to distribute. Nobody deserves to have to deal with this sort of thing. It's hard enough to take on a new position in an organization that needs so much attention, without having those closest to you, unintentionally take actions that might very well sabotage your efforts. It's a real shame and I hope that Sheriff Youngblood can successfully deal with this challenge in the public eye, and move everyone past it. As a Dad myself, I really feel for him.
In another way, I don’t feel bad for him. Perhaps he should have tightened this kid up when he was younger, rather than pull strings to get him off the hook and cover it up. I don't know if those actions were intentional on his part, or if he simply allowed his colleagues to take action without intervention. Either way, as Dad, he could have effected the outcome.
I was a boy once. There was a period of time when Dad kept a boot firmly planted in my hind quarters. He needed to, and it worked. As we both grew older, he told me that he hated that time. He felt bad for being so hard on me. I told him that, in my opinion, I needed it and it worked very well. I also thanked him for caring enough to do it.
I’m the Father now. I have two fine Sons. I’m glad that I have two feet because I have to keep one boot firmly implanted in each of them. It’s hard, and I hate it, but so far, they’re turning out to be fine young men. So far, so good.
This is a prime example of reaping what you sow.............................
I'd like to hear what others' think on this subject.
