I love it, seriously.
Where else can you see someone tell a person that they personally attacked him even though they never mentioned their name.
Where else can you have your wife go out and put herself in the campaign and then when she is questioned because of what she says, claim, she is not part of the campaign and should not be subject such treatment.
Where else can you have a candidate that thinks that any criticism of him is unjust and that he is the savior of the world and we should all be happy to have him raise our taxes and legitimize people that hate us and kill Americans everyday.
Ahh Politics its great. I can't wait for Obama to lose.

Cindy McCain Should Release Tax Returns

Senator John McCain's wife, Cindy McCain, has decided not to release her tax returns -- not now and not in the future. In the interest of transparency and to support her husband's frequent calls for clean and open government, she should rethink that decision.

Since their marriage in 1980, Mrs. McCain, the daughter of a multimillionaire Anheuser-Busch distributor, and her husband have filed separate tax returns. In April, Mr. McCain released his own returns, but just for the last two years -- a paltry nod to openness. Mrs. McCain, it was explained, would not release her tax returns in "the interest of protecting the privacy of her children."

Oh hey there RF,

Let me see you want me to die because I disagree and Barrack Obama thinks what? Hmm that's funny all of his socialist comments and policies,

he may want tax breaks to go to middle class but he will raise their taxes.

that's reality. You see that's the problem with Obama he says great things but his actual policies are contrary to what he will do.

RF before you go all crazy tell me, do you refute the statement above?

Let me say it again for you, Obama want to help everyone but the way he will do it is paid for by raising taxes. Bottom line he wants to raise taxes so that the Government is in charge of giving those funds out and "helping" people. Even though every time the Government is put in charge of things like this waste fraud corruption and oversight gets out of control....VA, post office, SS, etc...

John McCain has repeatedly argued that his wife's financial holdings are separate from his political life, and should remains so for the privacy of her and her children. However, as Slate pointed out this weekend, McCain has no problems keeping nearly everything the couple does own in her name:

John McCain has released his tax returns for 2006 and 2007 today, his first release of such information in 25 years. However, unlike the Democratic candidates who released information for themselves and their spouses, McCain will not release information on his wife's estimated $100 million fortune.

Cindy McCain said Thursday that she would never release her personal income tax filing even if her husband, Senator John McCain, was elected president. But Federal Aviation Administration records indicate that she appears to be using her personal wealth to help his campaign, through the continued use of her corporate jet.

The New York Times reported last month that during a crucial five-month period Mr. McCain's campaign regularly used a corporate jet owned by the Phoenix-based beer distributor that Mrs. McCain heads, saving the campaign hundreds of thousands of dollars. His campaign pays rates well below market ones for the plane's use because of an unresolved exemption in a recent campaign finance law that Mr. McCain backed.

Cindy McCain's Tax Returns Called For By Three Op-Eds

For a candidate who puts a premium on transparency and ethics, John McCain has been slow and grudging in releasing tax information. He did not commit to doing so until after he had secured the nomination, and then he disclosed only two years of taxes, far less than his Democratic rivals. Mr. McCain's wife, the heir to a liquor and beer distributorship, declined to release her returns, citing -- as Ms. Heinz Kerry did -- her children's privacy. Releasing tax information entails intrusion, but, as we wrote four years ago, presidential candidates and their spouses "relinquish a significant measure of privacy. Meanwhile, tax returns provide information not contained in financial disclosure forms, such as charitable contributions and the use of tax shelters." For Mrs. McCain to say, as she did on NBC's "Today" show this week, that she would never release her tax returns, not even if she were to become first lady, is unacceptable.

Sage,

We have had economic sauces with raising the GDP I think every year and we should continue that trend. We do have a debt but raising taxes would cause less money to made and less to be paid off. The way to fix our debt problem is to make more money, not by increasing taxes, but by selling more and earning more taxes all ready on the books. Not just raising the taxes so everyone who does buy pays more. I think that's basically it.

Think about it, you buy stuff, it cost more you might buy less. But if it cost less you buy more. I cant get more basic than that.

I find it funny reading a blog post like this. Since the Republican Party has absolutely no plan to benefit working people in this country, and have not had a plan for many years now, the only thing left is to distract voters with smear campaigns. There is no plan for health care from Republicans. There is no jobs or economic stimulus plan that does not further reward the very wealthiest in the land by proposing yet another tax cut to wipe away vital services the lower 90% of earners use for basic survival. The only beneficiaries of the Bush tax cuts thus far have been the very rich. We are still the only major country in the world that allows its citizens to go into bankruptcy over an illness or accident. Republicans tout a strong defense and yet turn their backs on the promises made to the very soldiers they give lip service to. They vote to deny real GI benefits by blocking the latest Congressional proposal to bring the GI Bill up to date. The only thing Republicans have demonstrated a talent for is the smear campaign. After hearing NPR today with Republican strategists taking a beating from callers in their own Party over how out of touch with reality Republican ideology is today, it is no wonder the nation sees only dirt being thrown from a bunch of desperate small-minded individuals. Republicans are not a party, they are a wake.

BS, if we spent the past 7 years and $500,000,000,000 on alternative energy, do you think oil would still be $128 bbl? Do you think we'd still be importing as much from OPEC? (Oh, and if we spent the past 7 years in ANWR, we'd still be at least 8 years from it being productive, and it will never be anything more than 5% of current US consumption.) Oh, and we'd have 4,000+ kids walking around today who are six feet under.

You're assuming the plan was to invade Iraq to increase oil production. That was only one of the plans- that the US would develop the Iraqi oil fields and break the back of OPEC. Rookie mistake. You see, the other plan was to invade Iraq and have US companies sign contracts to develop the fields but then not put them into production. That way they would get the increased profits (as they would with Plan 1) while doing absolutely no work at all. Sure, OPEC is still in power, but with the Iraq oil fields firmly in the hands of the US, we could do that another day, another decade.

In the last week I've received 2 calls from Kevin McCarthy's phone team. ON MY CELL PHONE ! This is the first time I've ever had political or telemarketing calls on that phone and I am extremely displeased. I'm not a cell phone expert but I'm told that incoming calls use up my minutes and that REALLY ticks me off as I'm on a family members plan and the minutes are shared.

I disconnect as soon as I hear the voice but what about voice mail? Anyone know how that works...eats into minutes available? Not?

Sage, are you referring to the "Yobama" crack? I re read the page and that's the only "cutesy" name I saw. And I disapprove of it too. Sorry Sioux, when you use it you make our side look as bad as the other.

"Think about it, you buy stuff, it cost more you might buy less. But if it cost less you buy more. I cant get more basic than that." BSuper

.U.S. Producer Prices, Minus Food, Energy, Rise 0.4%

May 20 (Bloomberg) -- Prices paid to U.S. producers, excluding food and fuel, rose more than forecast in April, reflecting increases in automobile and furniture costs.

The 0.4 percent gain in so-called core prices was twice as big as anticipated and followed a 0.2 percent increase in March, the Labor Department said today in Washington. A drop in energy costs and unchanged food expenses held the total price measure to a 0.2 percent gain.

Imperial (UK) gallon...

Imperial (UK) gallon is legally defined as 4.54609 litres (≈ 277.42 cu in), which is about 1.2 U.S. liquid gallons. This definition is used in Commonwealth countries and Ireland, and is based on the volume of 10 pounds of water at 62 °F. (A U.S. liquid gallon of water weighs about 8.33 pounds at the same temperature.) The Imperial gallon is no longer legal, in the United Kingdom, for trade or public administration purposes, but it is used colloquially (and in advertising) for fuel consumption figures in miles per gallon.

The Imperial gallon continues to be used as a unit of measure for fuel in Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Burma, Grenada, Guyana, Sierra Leone and the United Arab Emirates

This is almost as entertaining as watching all the lefties hoot and holler about how the new congress was going to point America in a new direction. I'm still waiting.

Almost as much fun as listening to all the political braintrusts saying Bush would invade Iran. I'm still waiting.

Almost as much fun as their certainty that Bush would be impeached. I'm still waiting.

Alomost as sickening as hearing them applaud Algore for saying he'd like to see gas at $5 a gallon to attract attention to global warming and alternative energy(which we were already paying attention to)then sniveling like the poor sports they are when it topped $3 a gallon and blaming Bush for it. Are you still waiting for $5 a gallon? Guess it depends on who you support as to what you will accept

Ah the hypocracy

Sometimes I think one of the worst of our sayings is "In MY day!" In MY day umbilical cords got wrapped around a baby's neck if you hung clothes on the clothesline and you caught a cold if you washed your hair and went to bed with the window open.

Hopefully we learn from the past and also realize what happened then won't work now. The founding fathers didn't know, nor could they have foreseen instant communication as in todays world. It gives new meaning to "The shot heard round the world." That was figuritively speaking, now it literally happens. Ben Franklin would have been dancing a jig (while not dancing with the ladies) to see the communications, power plants and technology of today.

We have to do what works now. We have to fight enemies who don't know the meaning of Code Of Honor." We have McDonalds and Starbucks. Whoulda thunk in those days that not only could you take the misses to the pub, she's probably been going there longer than you have.

This is all rambling sort of in fun but the reality is, This Ain't Kansas Anymore. Maybe it's better.

</itunes:summary>

Jfran, I would call McCain an idiot, but his supporters probably deserve that label more than he. I don't see how they can feel like they know what they're getting with him. He takes a strong stance on a lot of issues, and it's usually on the not so Republican side. So I am completely astonished to see Republicans voting for him. But, at least he has a voting history.

And, I'm surprised you demand substance from me when I criticize Obama. He never seems to carry substance in his speeches or arguments. I'll bring substance in to it as soon as he can give me some substance to criticize substantially.
