It's great to see that the boys club were kind enough to promote a nice little gal to detective. I'm just assuming Lonnie is a female first name. Can anyone confirm this? I surely wouldn't want to give credit where credit isn't due.

Also, since they are "civil servants", is there access to information regarding the diversity of who's been promoted as well as the recruits?

Lastly, I applaud any individual for joining the B.P.D. In all seriousness, civilians are the first to criticize; yet, we're the first to them call for help. Thank you for doing a job most wouldn't have the stomach or tolerance for.

My only beef is the absence on the part of the department showcasing officers who fall in to the "diversity" category. If this has been done or covered already, my apologies...I just always happen to see ONLY males roll up at the stop lights next to me in the cop cars.

OldBlue, I thought that was the case, just checking though. As for Irma, apparently the dept. policy on uniform standards also didn't apply to her. I saw her in V.I.P. Uniforms one time wearing her cap at a rakish angle pinned to her medium afro while wearing high heels with the toes curled-up and her sidearm holster pushed so far forward on her gunbelt that it nearly covered her crotch! What an embarassment! How did she expect to chase badguys while wearing high heels? I guess that's a rhetorical question. No one expected her to chase badguys! I read an article in The Bak. Californian where they profiled her and made mention of her wearing high heels on patrol. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it for myself. She made Lt. before she retired, didn't she?
