Details:
At about 3:00 AM this morning, the Kern County Sheriff&#039;s Office received a call from the Ventura Sheriff&#039;s 
Office regarding lost hikers.

Deputies discovered that at about 10:30 AM on 3-30-08, Greg Kimura of Simi Valley and Victor Herrera of 
San Clemente parked their vehicle at Cuddy Valley Rd and Mil Portero Hwy in the Frazier Park area. They 
began hiking, intending to scale the summit of Mt Pinos and then return to their vehicle.&amp;nbsp; However, when 
family members had still not heard from them by 2:00 AM on 3-31-08, they reported Kimura and Herrera 
missing to the Ventura County Sheriff&#039;s Office.&amp;nbsp; 

Ventura Deputies began searching.&amp;nbsp; Ventura authorities notified the Kern County Sheriff&#039;s Office at about 3:00 
AM.&amp;nbsp; Kern County Sheriff&#039;s Search and Rescue personnel joined in the search effort and at about 10:00 AM 
deputies in the Ventura Sheriff&#039;s helicopter located the lost hikers in the Seymore Canyon Road area.&amp;nbsp; Both 
hikers were transported back to their parked vehicle.&amp;nbsp; 

The hikers told search and rescue deputies that after they reached the summit of Mt Pinos and began to 
return to their vehicle, they got off of the trail and became lost.&amp;nbsp; Although both hikers had been out in the 
elements all night, neither one suffered any ill effects that required medical attention.
