        <description>Monday, May 19, 2008 @ 1535 hrs (3:35 p.m. PST) reinforced 1st and 2 nd alarms f rom the Bakersf ield FIRE Department consisting of 5 Engines, 2 Trucks 2 Squad, 2 Battalion Commanders, 1 Deputy Command Chief, 1 Arson Unit, 1 Light and Air Unit, and various BFD support units responded to a reported structure f ire at 1525 Hub Street, in south&amp;shy;east Bakersf ield. First arriving BFD Engine Companies reported heavy fire issuing f rom a single&amp;shy; story, single&amp;shy;family residential structure and a &amp;ldquo;working f ire&amp;rdquo; in progress.
The f irst arriving Chief&amp;nbsp; Off icer requested reinf orced 1 st and 2 nd alarms. 
Bakersf ield City FIRE crews were advised of&amp;nbsp; multiple calls conf irming the f ire received by ECC, and noted a large, black column of&amp;nbsp; smoke visible in route. BFD Engine Company Firef ighters arrived on scene and immediately deployed multiple hose lines to various locations of&amp;nbsp; the structure in an attempt to knock down an extensive, spreading body of&amp;nbsp; f ire. BFD Truck Company Firef ighters noted f ire through the roof , and were deployed to the interior of&amp;nbsp; the home to assist with an intense overhead and ground&amp;shy;level f iref ight. Additional BFD Firef ighters were deployed to position hose lines to cut the f ire off f rom the uninvolved portions of the structure, and address interior/exterior overhaul.

BFD Firef ighters treated several occupants for minor burns and emotional distress. 
Current damage estimates are in the $120,000 range.

BFD Arson Units has determined the f ire to accidental &amp;ndash; caused by a child playing with matches.

There were no Firef ighter injuries. </description>
