News from BPD and KCSO watch commanders:

• Bakersfield Police have a ton of “man power” on the kidnapping and assault case from Thursday afternoon. But so far, Lt. Bill Bailey said, they’ve had no luck finding the guy.

• The Sheriff’s Department is busy Thursday night with a couple of cases. They were involved in a pursuit in Wasco, on D Street. The car involved was stolen. They’ve caught one of two suspects.

• About 50 miles east of there, in the snow drenched mountains of Wofford Heights, two dirt bikers got stuck near Rancheria Road. They have spotted the bikers, but are having trouble finding a place to land their new rescue helicopter, said Lt. Bart Camps.
• In live scanner traffic Twittered Thursday night:
- Deputies were looking for a juvenile causing a disturbance. He is bipolar and is wearing a "Chucky" doll T-shirt.
- Police were on their way to a home on 31st Street. Seven juveniles are living there "in less than desirable conditions."

I wonder if the fact that there's a hiring freeze, not enough officers on the streets and no training available for officers, if that has anything to do with this town going crazy. I bet Tandy's having a stroke over the overtime used today to find a violent felon.

LOL, good one witter, If it were only that simple:) I'm sure Tandy has a difficult job, but it would be easier if he were doing it right all along. Spending tax dollars on the "space between" and a new jumbo tron when we cant afford to keep our citizens safe seems like a 16 year old trying to budget. Maybe he was never taught that want vs need that we working tax paying citizens have to use to balance our own budget also applies to taxpayer funded projects. YOU BUY THE THINGS YOU NEED FIRST AND SPEND ON THE WANTS WITH WHATS LEFT!!! Not the other way around. Now that the above and other pet projects have depleted the budget he wants to make up the difference off the little guys backs. And if he gets away with it, stand by for more.
