FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Junior Black Apprentice Program who is sponsored by the California Junior Black
Chamber of Commerce- Kern County Chapter is working with the Bakersfield Police
Department. Members of the Junior Black Apprentice Program will be working in the
community in assisting the Crime Prevention Unit in trying to generate interest in starting
neighborhood watch programs. These members will be making contact with local
residents July 1-4, 2009 and will have materials and proper identification. For further
questions please contact 326-3052.</description>

                <description>&lt;p&gt;There are some serious issues in the Black community and they are trying to ameliorate the situation without blaming others or making excuses.&amp;nbsp; It also a great way to establish positive relationships law enforcement and the local Black community.&amp;nbsp; It was not cool for a Black kid to want to be a cop when I&amp;nbsp;was growing up.&amp;nbsp; Maybe programs like these will change the negative perception the Black community has of cops.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
