Cheaper — but smaller — Coke and Pepsi - Cheapskate - Cheapskate's Blog - Bakersfield.com

Trying to convince us we're getting a break, Coke and Pepsi plan to roll out cheaper bottled sodas this summer, according to a USA Today story out today.
They're looking at charging 99 cents for 12- and 16-ounce bottles, rather than selling as many 20-ounce bottles.
So you get less but you pay less.
Brian Wynne, vice president of business development for Coca-Cola Enterprises, told USA Today that the idea is to offer Coke products "at a great price in a difficult time."
Will people buy it?

That seems to be the big lie these days. Jack up the price and try and tell you that you're getting a good deal on an improved product. Coke and Pepsi are not the only soft drinks in town. I'll shop carefully. I hope everybody else does as well. These price-gougers don't need encouragement.
