More about Ms. Palin --

She is known for her hate of government corruption. She is also very strongly pro-life. Sarah Palin is one of the most popular governors with a approval rating of up to 90%.

John McCain has to make a careful choice when he chooses a running mate. This is a very important decision for him. For one reason he will need a strong running mate, to compete with the strong democratic nominee.

Another reason is since John McCain is older many voters will be considering his Vice President choice carefully. The voters will have to be convinced that his Vice President would be a competent President if they needed to be.

With Sarah Palin as John McCain's running mate he will be combating several of the advantages that the democratic party has. One is that there are a lot of people who would want to vote for Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama because it would be a presidential election that would make history. If John McCain's' running partner was Sarah Palin, a vote for them would also be a vote that would be making history.

Another thing that Sarah Palin would bring to the election is charisma. Obama has been known to have a lot of charisma, and in the past voters have always been won over with charm. While McCain has been called a "old coot" by some people, Sarah Palin is the opposite. Palin is young and very charismatic.

A McCain political advisor was asked on ABC about the womens right to choose issue. She said people are more concerned about...and went on a tangent about how McCain is going to solve the energy crisis and salvage the economy, dodging the question altogether.

If McCain selects a pro-life running mate--and I don't see how he can't--the bottom line issue of this election will be an administration with a religious agenda (like George's) vs. one that is secular.

I am beginning to regard this election as a nation-wide exaggeration of the Scope's Monkey Trial.

McCain won't pick a woman, because those who will not vote for a black candidate - Mormons are one group - also would not vote for a ticket with a female VP candidate. A good number of the votes he would normally pick up due to Obama's blackness would be lost, so he'll pick a generic white male for a running mate.

Since Biden was announced as Obama's running mate, McCain has picked up a point or two every day, and is now in a 46-46 tie. Obama was ahead 46-43 yesterday, but after Ted Kennedy and Michelle Obama made their speeches, McCain pick up three points to knot the score at 46.

I like Palin, more recently, Romney is the obvious choice and a good one with the economy and him being vetted and able to to go against Biden.

But here is one I'm thinking about, Powell. He's pro choice so I'm not sure how that would break down, but i think he would be good too.

McCain would be a fool to take on a woman. The lefties would instantly scream she slept her way into the (pardon the expression) position. They're good at making things like that up as they go.

Mitt is the most likely to be the VP candidate. He was strong early on, younger, cleans up well, and has no real scandal that we know of.

After all, we wouldn't want to vote someone one in on just their ability and experience now would we?

Last I heard on network tv is Powell is over 70. Two physical wrecks with a foot in the grave and another on a bananna peel would go over like a fart in church. A younger attractive woman might be a drawback because she could magnify McCain's age and overall creepiness. Maybe he'll find a 50 to 55 yr. old veteran somewhere.
