        <title>Fighting? Amigo&#039;s? Did you really show up to review this bar? - Toothaches? - Janigirl&apos;s Blog - Bakersfield.com</title>

As I read the bar reviews today, I was stunned to see the review on Amigo&#039;s listed a, &amp;quot;30s and 40&#039;s crowd who drink, smoke, and fight&amp;quot;. And the next line (??), &amp;quot;a biker crowd in a wannabe Orange County Cantina&amp;quot;. My first thought was obviously Shellie Branco wasn&#039;t at Amigo&#039;s. Her assessment was so far off base. I wondered if she got the picture from a friend and acted like she really showed up to do the review. If so, bad choice. Amigo&#039;s is a family owned restaurant with great customer service and a friendly staff. The bar atmosphere is exceptionally friendly. I have been to Amigo&#039;s almost every Friday night since February. My husband is the lead singer for Elevation 406, the house band. There has &amp;quot;never&amp;quot; been a fight, nope, not even one. I have also been there some Saturday nights to watch Elevation 406 or to check out other bands. Again there has &amp;quot;never&amp;quot; been a fight. The crowd is a great mix, consisting mostly of 30-50 year olds, however, there are a few 20, 60, 70, and occasionally 80 year olds. There is one gentleman who comes in that I believe to be in his late 70&#039;s to early 80&#039;s, he dances almost every dance and has an awesome time. I also take my 82 year old mother occasionally. I would not take my mother to a place that had fights or even a rowdy crowd.&amp;nbsp;Amigo&#039;s is a great club, perhaps like those in Orange County, I wouldn&#039;t know because I&#039;m not really a bar person.&amp;nbsp; I do know, when people from the southland come to Amigos, they always comment that they don&#039;t get to see good bands like these in their cantinas or bars. Personally I go to watch my husband perform and to socialize with nice hardworking, intelligent people who also enjoy good music and listening to a band who knows how to captivate a crowd. The customers at Amigo&#039;s are from all walks of life.&amp;nbsp; I have never seen any of them be disrespectful to each other.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;There are probably 1-5 &amp;quot;bikers&amp;quot; who show up on Friday nights. When these people aren&#039;t dressed up in their biker gear,&amp;nbsp;most&amp;nbsp;are dressed in their uniforms protecting and serving our community. That could be another reason Amigo&#039;s doesn&#039;t have any fights.

                <description>&lt;p&gt;Thank you for actually blogging about something that has to do with the subject.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Before blogging,&amp;nbsp; I spoke with one of the owners, and several regular patrons, &amp;nbsp;they were&amp;nbsp;as surprised as I was about the fight story.&amp;nbsp; They all gave me the same&amp;nbsp;answer.&amp;nbsp;...no fights period for a very very long time.&amp;nbsp; What happened before I began going there I couldn&#039;t tell you.&amp;nbsp; Perhaps its the change or&amp;nbsp;split in ownership that has made a difference.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;The owner is on top of the business at all times watching from the inside and out, and&amp;nbsp;thankfully there have been no fights.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt;
