Hill wasn't endorsing the phrase, but she failed to make clear that she was citing someone else's characterization. She apologized the next day, but of course, the libs wont report it that way, that would be the truth,,,,and it is old, and never really that cool, and Obama dosent make it any more cool, now, lets count the times Keith Olbermann has said stupid things on air, oh my, we dont have enough room!!!

I'm a firm handshaker and I mean really using hands and not fingertips. I don't live in the Victorian age or a time when women were dainty fingertippers. On the other hand, (no pun intended) I don't like bone crushers either.

I shake hands with clients at the completion of a program while I'm wishing them well. Somehow a fist bump just doesn't seem to say it.

I stopped worrying about contamination long ago. I haven't had a cold in over two years and skipped the flu last year too. With no flu shot.

I rarely get sick and when I do it's good old IBS or allergies acting up and not anything catching. I had a co worker who fussed over handshakes but loved Walmart so I told him I didn't want to hear of him using a basket either there or at the grocery store. When you think what those handles go through, a handshake is the least of the worries.

The version I got is Howie popularized the fist bump because he is a germaphobe (sp?). He usually looks uncomfortable when a contestant on his show hugs him. Sometimes I'll say (especially if I just saw the guy scatching his butt or something), "Excuse me for not shaking hands. I may be carrying a bug." A business environment will expect convention more than a college campus. Not a place for secret handshakes.

I've run across a few people who are very germ conscious (or paranoid). It's a wonder they're not inside a plastic bubble.
