In any case, there was work being done on Niles Street - from approx where Niles/Monterey connect going west to I think Baker Street. The road was completely torn out and either the public works department is making repairs or it is a good samaritan citizen making improvements so that those of us who still reside in east Bakersfield can drive on safe roadways. However, I am wondering if/when work will begin east of Oswell.
