Tortoise Theft - Bake Town - baketown's Blog - Bakersfield.com

Herb's article about the woman who had her tortoise stolen reminded me of one of my own. Unfortunatly, my story does not have a happy ending. You can find it here.
Interesting side note - the friend who gave me that tortoise is now my husband. I had no idea things would turn out this way, but somehow he always did.

I worry about the guys who say they "know what they're doing". I have heard of so many people feeding their torts nothing but lettuce or dog food. Tell me where lettuce grows in the desert?? They are indangered, have special needs, and arent easy to care for at first. Once you/they get established it all fun from there. We live in a neat area where these wonderful creatures are native. ps bake town, I loved both of your stories. thanks for posting...
