As far as hunting photos go, it's not that out of the ordinary. A caller to the newsroom a few moments ago wasn't the slightest bit impressed by the &quot;disturbing&quot; photo. &quot;It's actually quite disgusting that this family is smiling together after slaughtering a deer,&quot; she said. &quot;It's clearly a disturbing photo that should never have been published in your newspaper.&quot; Is she right? I don't mind those that hunt for food since there is little waste in the process and I know many enjoy venison (I haven't tried it since I have allergies to other red meats). I&nbsp;have less tolerance for trophy hunters however. We have neighbors who still do.&nbsp;Having venison for a year saved us a ton of money at the grocery store. As mentioned above as long as the meat is for consumption I have no problem with the picture - in many cultures, including ours, this meat sustained families who had little or no money.
