Pain Knows no Politics: A song and a prayer for Kennedy - Dr BLT's Blog n Roll Studio - blognroll's Blog - Bakersfield.com

If any of you have ever known a close friend or family member that has suffered with cancer, or if you have been a survivor yourself, you'll understand that it's always sad when somebody suffers. It doesn't matter if that person has a different point of view, or that the person may have rubbed you the wrong way in the past.
When one person suffers, we should all rally around the person and support him or her. Shortly after hearing about the news that Senator Kennedy had brain cancer, I was listening to the Ralph Bailey Show, and noticed that Ralph had nothing but positive things to say about the Senator. And I know that Ralph's politics and those of Kennedy's rarely gel. But Ralph got it right. You don't kick a man when he is down. You remember him in your thoughts and prayers and you wish him the best. That is the sentiment behind the song posted here.

Pain Knows no Politics
words and music by Dr. BLT copyright 2008

pain knows no politics
let's pray for Kennedy
pain knows no politics
and disease is just disease
put aside your foolish pride
faith is the remedy
pain knows no politics
let's pray for Kennedy

I'm a mid-western man
I am a prairie boy
so it's no big surprise
that the left gets me annoyed
but in time of trouble, lord
it just ain't about me
pain knows no politics
let's pray for Kennedy

this I plead
this I plead
just say a prayer
get on bended knee
this I plead
this I plead
let's say a prayer
for Edward Kennedy

Thank you BLT, this is how everyone should react to the news on Kennedy, on this same topic though, what do you think about left wing blogs like Daily Kos and Huffington post who let people blog ugly hate speech about any conservative person who happens to get cancer or has a accident?, they always blog how they want the person to die and how they deserved it, I find this very offensive, but when Kennedy has cancer, you hear nothing like that from Conservative bloggers, notice the difference?, why do the Liberals blogg this way on those sites?, Random?? care to explain this?

May 22, 2008 at 12:05 PM : Mountianman, that is...

Mountianman, that is totally incorrect. TomW posted a link to the DailyKos entry on Tony Snow, for example. Anyone posting negative stuff got hooted down, and the vast majority were sympathetic.

.

Contrast that with FreeRepublic yesterday, where they actually had to take the blog entry on Kennedy down because they couldn't keep up with all the yahoos posting crap.

.

Part of it is the difference between right-wing blogs, which tend to be centrally controlled and very quick to kick people out, and left-wing ones where the trolls are refuted or (more often) played with.

May 22, 2008 at 01:05 PM : And all their ugly...

And all their ugly comments about Nancy Reagan?, On the Huffington Post, the following hateful comments were posted about the former first lady:

"Like her evil husband, she has lived far too long. Here's hoping the hag suffers for several weeks, then croaks in the tub."

"The old bat will probably steal everything in the hospital room."

"I feel no pity for the b---- who took delight in watching thousands die of a horrible disease and watching the poor having to eat out of dumpsters because of her husband's political beliefs."

There are dozens of other vile comments available for your reading pleasure on the Huffington Post. Apparently, Arianna Huffington, the woman who runs the site, has no problem with publishing hate speech. Ms. Huffington has the power to remove this trash immediately, but she chooses not to.
Random, I dont approve of anyone posting crap about Kennedy or anyone, what would your view be of people who blogged here and said vile things about Kennedy?, ,
