I am a big Edwards fan. I do believe he is sincere and has backed up his rhetoric with actions. I won't bore everyone with a litany of reasons why I think he would make the best nominee or President. He is a bright and courageous individual who has had his share of pain and knows what being without truly means. This is why his message resonates with people who listen to him speak. I admire anyone, regardless of the win loss record, who has gone up against the corporate world of greed and neglect.

I am always surprised that people could even think about voting for a Republican these days. This is the political party of cowardice that runs and manages on fear alone. Will President Bush or Vice-President Cheney ever appear in a real public setting with real people surrounding them, or just with sycophants and club members for photo opportunities? No major Republican could be bothered to appear for a debate scheduled with Tavis Smiley as moderator. The Party won't address the NAACP , has totally alienated the Latino vote by its xenophobic zeal to seal the southern border. This is the political party that brought torture as America's new method of interrogation and fought to skirt Geneva Convention rules of care for prisoners of war. This is the political party that did away with Habeus Corpus to keep people it knowingly knew it could not convict from ever seeing the light of day. This is the political party that thinks it should examine all phone calls and computer exchanges of its citizens, just like employers do now as well. This is the political party that has gutted the federal government to the point where there is no one left to oversee consumer protection laws and health and safety guidelines. This is a political party that offers up Jesus as a marketing tool and abrogates every teaching He uttered in the Bible. If you're looking for a crusade and want all the coin of the realm residing in the hands of the feudal few this is your political party.

There were many promises made before they took over congress, but we are getting the same ol' rhetoric and results. They're both serving us the Kool-Aid.

I would vote for:

Newt Gingrich (he's unelectable but very smart)

J.D. Haworth (he didn't even get re-elected in AZ though)

J.C. Watts (not in pool -- yet)

Michael Steele (He's not in pool)

That leaves me with

Mike Huckabee

If it comes to it, the lesser of evils, then Rudy (assuming he is the nominee and the only other choice is HRC)

No surprise who came up as my candidate (based on actual issues, not "electability"). Or why my second choice (to actually vote for) was ranked further down (because of the way the questions were asked, and options given).

Someone that could actually get our *real personal liberties* restored. I know I am going to get beat-up for saying this, but it is my true feeling, Have at it, I'm sure you *all* will... I'm ready !

Well Mitt won't restore any personal liberties, gsisola. Mitt's in favor of torture and expanding Gitmo. He's also the private equity man gobbling up companies to displace workers and replace them with foreign made garbage that gets made outside US labor and safety standards. Democratic candidates have nothing in common with Republican candidates today. Only McCain can show up for a Univision sponsored debate for the Republicans. I already mentioned the Tavis Smiley dodge. The Republican candidates won't appear in public with a diverse crowd. They are all frightened of what makes us Americans, diverse backgrounds.
