You have to check out this story. This girl is auctioning off her virginity to pay for her school bills. She says she will take a polygraph test and get a medical exam to prove she is a virgin. What do you think about it?

Ladies, get ready! Jason Mesnick is the new Bachelor!

As I watched the season finale of The Bachelorette, having watched all seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, never have I felt so bad for someone who didn't get picked then I did for Jason Mesnick. I was so sad (actually bawling...lol) for him that I couldn't even be happy for the other guy, Jesse, who was a really nice guy, too! Jason is from Washington and he is a divorced single father of a three year old boy named Ty!

From the minute that Jason was shown on the show, there was no doubt that he was a nice guy. Watching him through out the season and watching how he acts with his son, just makes you realize that there really are good men in this world and it makes you wish you had someone like Jason. So much so that since he was rejected, women and family members of women who are single have been frantically trying to get Jason's email address or phone number or any way to contact this man because they are or have the perfect person for him. They have also begged ABC to feature him as The Bachelor and the ladies finally have their wish!!! Needless to say, he will be one that is the favorite out of all men that have ever been on The Bachelor and as far as I am concerned, he deserves it! Go Jason!

Celebrity Dish

It seems as if Morgan Freeman was in a car accident and is in serious condition. Personally, I think he is a great actor and I hope he is able to recover and work again. Here is the story! http://www.bakersfield.com/896/story/514252.html

Christina Applegate has an early form of breast cancer. Kind of sad, because her long time on and off again boyfriend just died a couple months ago. It looks like she will recover though! Here is the story! http://www.bakersfield.com/896/story/514045.html

And have you seen the Brangelina twins yet? People published pictures of Vivienne and Knox Jolie-Pitt. You can check it out online at www.people.com or pick up the magazine that hits newsstands today! Brad and Angelina got 14 million dollars for the pics, which is going to charity!

Love Celebrity Gossip?

I am hugely addicted to celebrity gossip, I will admit that and you may be able to tell from some of the blogs that I post.

As most of you have seen, we have fantasy sports games such as Race To Victory and Beat The Experts Football on our site. I maintain them and occasionally will play the games but I am not into sports at all so I have no idea what I am doing on them.

Well, for those of you that don't like sports and follow celebrity gossip, TMZ.com, has a game called Star vs. Star! You choose 10 stars ie. Britney Spears, Keira Knightley, etc. and those stars compete against another player that has 10 stars. You can change your stars whenever you want and it will take effect in the next day. Each league consists of 4 to 8 people and different weeks you compete against different people in your league. The top 4 go to the play-offs and the top 2 after that fight it out to win! The stars get points each week and the more gossip about your star that week the more points you get. Each star is on a list A-D and the D list stars get more points because they are less popular working up to A-list stars who are talked about all the time and get the least points. TMZ pulls the points from their site, People.com, Eonline.com and some other sources.

It is alot of fun, very addicting and believe it or not, it can be challenging to keep up with the gossip in time to change your celebrities for the next day! Check it out and if you are anything like me, you will be hooked!

Extreme Makeover home in foreclosure!

Most people would give their right arm for the chance to have Extreme Makeover remodel or make them a home. One couple, who was lucky enough to get that chance, (actually they demolished their house and built a brand new one because of the faulty septic system and I am sure other things) has defaulted on a loan they used the house as collateral for and are losing the house. It looks like they not only built them this house but they gave them a fund to maintain it and scholarships for all three of their kids.

Seems like a waste to me because they didn't use this gift to turn their lives around. I am sure it had something to do with not being used to having things and not sure how to manage it.

Here is the story! www.bakersfield.com/965/story/508540.html

Celebrity Circus!

I happened to have my tv tuned to the channel Celebrity Circus is on and once I started watching the first few minutes, I wanted to watch the rest of it! I was amazed at the tricks that some of them did. Christopher Knight did a trapeze act that I thought was amazing for someone who had just learned all this stuff and Rachel Hunter did something they were calling the triangle and balanced in the middle of this very small pole while two guys moved her across a highwire! The judges are a little off the wall but I thought it was a great show!

Have you check it out? What did you think?

DVD Easter Eggs?

I am always curious to see what the top searches are when I open the Yahoo homepage. It is more just a curiousity thing as to what people are interested in on any given day.

I saw one called DVD Easter Eggs. I thought that was an interesting combination so I clicked on it. I guess it is hidden items on a dvd that you can usually get to from the menu on specific dvds. I knew they had special scenes that when you slowed them down or would speed them up, they do certain things......sometimes naughty things....but I was not aware of this! Maybe I am the only one who doesn't know this considering it is #4 on Yahoo Search!

I found this website, which has thousands of DVD's, that have hidden items on it! The most popular include Family Guy, Transformers, Harry Potter, Enchanted, etc. Here is the website: www.hiddendvdeastereggs.com/.

I survived a Japanese game show!

So, I have posted this link before on my personal blog. It is a game called Human Tetris and it is hilarious!

http://video.yahoo.com/watch/702156

The reason I posted this is because they have a new show coming out called I survived a Japanese game show! It looks hilarious! What happens is they take 10 people from America to Japan and have them compete on a game show that is similar to the average Japanese game show. They have no idea what they are getting themselves into. Those game shows are brutal, ours are a cake walk compared to them! I saw the commercials for it and these people go through the ringer and only one of them will come out with $250,000 and can say that they survived a Japanese game show!

It is on tonight on ABC at 9 pm! Wanna laugh? Check it out! Would you do this for a chance at $250,000?

So, the American Film Institute has put out a new list of top movies and have broken it down by 10 categories.

Here are the top movies in each category:

Animation: Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs

Fantasy: Wizard of Oz

Gangster: The Godfather

Science Fiction: 2001: A Space Odyssey

Western: The Searchers

Sports: Raging Bull

Mystery: Vertigo

Romantic Comedy: City Lights

Courtroom Drama: To Kill a Mockingbird

Epic: Lawrence of Arabia

Here is the other movies in each category! That link will take you to AFI's website!

What do you think of all these movies? Are there any movies that you think should have been in the top 10 and weren't? Or did you hate any of these movies? Most of these movies are older, are there any newer ones that have been overlooked?

Big Brother 10

I am an avid Big Brother fan and have watched since the very first episode of season 1. My favorite houseguest of all time is Dr. Evil- Will, who was on season 2 and season 7-All Stars. I recently looked up the schedule for BB 10 and it will air July 13th. Looking around the websites, I saw some speculation on how they are going to mix things up in the house and I found it interesting. My mom, who is also an avid BB fan, didn't like BB 9 as much because they paired them up as couples that were matched to eachother. I liked it but was not a huge fan of some of the people in the house and had no one that I was set on winning but had many that I absolutely did not want to win!

The new rumors going around are that the format is going to be similar to Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites. They will still be in the house and there will be no tribal council or anything like that but they will either use fans of past BB players and those past BB players or they will use fans and reality show contestants from other popular reality shows. I can't guarantee this will happen, it really is just speculation but I think it is a great idea! Of course, I want Will to come back but the likelyhood of that is small considering he has done 2 of them so far.

So, BB fans, what did you think of BB 8? What do you think of the new rumored idea? and Who out of BB houseguests or other reality tv shows would you want to see on BB 10?

The Wall Street Journal has a story about World Pillow Fight Day on March 22nd. It says that 35 cities around the world participated including New York, which had thousands of people participate! Here is the story: online.wsj.com/article/SB120814163599712081.html

Ohh Ohh Ohh Ohh Ohh....The Right Stuff!

From the headline, you may or may not know what that means. I am referring to "The Right Stuff" by New Kids On The Block and that is part of the song.

Ok, so I will admit, I was a HUGE New Kids On The Block fan! I had their posters all over my walls, their bedspread and sheets, all the dolls, a watch and anything else I could find with them on it. Go ahead, make fun of me! I am not ashamed....; )!

I know that pretty much all girls my age when they came out loved them and all the boys hated them.....haha.....maybe because NKOTB took the attention away from them. Then NKOTB faded and I remember letting some of my brothers friends tear down the posters and boy, did they love that.....lol.

So, have you heard that New Kids On The Block is reuniting? I can't say that I would have ever expected that especially after 20 years and they aren't quite so NEW anymore. The rumor is that they will be on The Today Show tomorrow so that will be interesting. I will check out their music.....it will I am sure have evolved in the last 20 years so you never know, they might be good. Although when Jordan Knight was singing on the Surreal Life, it drove me crazy because all he kept doing was high notes.....should be interesting!

What do you think?

I love to laugh so you never know, you may give me someone new to check out. So, who is your favorite comedian? Do you like the classic comedians or the newer ones?
Ready for some great comedy in Bakersfield?

I blogged way back in January of last year about my adventure to The Laugh Factory, a comedy club in Hollywood and getting an opportunity to meet Dane Cook. Since then, I have probably gone about 25 times or more and I have seen many different comics. Some of these comics are Carlos Mencia, Dane, Aries Spears, K-von, Darren Carter, Paula Bell, Tony Rock, Maz Jobrani, etc.

There are two great comics coming to The Nile right here in Bakersfield. They are Darren Carter and K-von. They are both regulars at The Laugh Factory and K-von even hosts the midnight show at The Laugh Factory every Saturday night.

I have seen Darren perform once and he is definitely very funny. He made me laugh the whole time he was on the stage.

As for K-von, after seeing him the first time, I couldn't wait to go back and see him again. So, I have gone to his hosted show at The Laugh Factory 3 times so far and will go back again. K-von always has me laughing, whether it is on stage or just talking to him. He is hilarious!

You can buy tickets on Vallitix.com and it includes dinner! It is Thursday, March 13th! Get your tickets before they are gone!

You won't want to miss this! Be prepared to laugh the whole time. It will be a great night!

Are you ready for your Moment of Truth?

Last week, this new game show premiered on FOX called "The Moment of Truth". I sat there watching this show thinking about why anybody would think it is worth it to share these things and possibly hurt people in the process for money.

The way the show works is the contestant takes a lie detector test before the show and they ask them 50 highly personal questions that are tailored specifically to you. Then they come on the show and have to answer correctly 21 highly personal questions on TV to get to $500,000. Obviously, the more you answer the more personal they get. You can stop before then at the designated spots and take home a smaller amount of money ie. $10,000 for some uncomfortable questions, $25,000 for some stingers, etc. If they lie on the show and the lie detector caught it, then they loose any money that they won and gennerally go home with some angry people. You have family, wives, friends, girlfriends, bosses right in front of you and they tailor the questions to who you brought with you. The people with you can hit a button one time if they do not want to hear the answer. The contestant will then not be able to answer the question and they will give them a new question but there is no guarantee that it won't be worse than the first one.

Last week, they asked a guy right in front of his wife, if he was hesitating to have children because he didn't know if he would be with her forever? His answer: Yes and also, yes on the polygraph. They also asked him if he ever did anything that would make her not trust him....again, yes and also, yes on the polygraph.

I find this show fascinating. Does anyone ever really want to hear the truth about themselves, the ones they love, etc? Is the money really worth it? Would you go on the show and why or why not?

The show is on tonight on FOX at 9 pm.

TV Shows affected by the Writer's Strike and some new shows coming out!

So, you may have noticed since the writer's strike that alot of shows have disappeared and at this point, we don't know when they will be back. You may say this is old news but I still wonder about specific shows and what there is to watch on TV now! I know my DVR up until the couple weeks has had nothing to record!

Here is a list of some of the shows that are affected but not even close to all of them:

Desperate Housewives

Grey's Anatomy

Private Practice

Pushing Daisies

24

Bionic Woman-May not return at all

Gossip Girl

The New Adventures of Old Christine

The Office

Private Pratice

Saturday Night Live

How I met your Mother

Family Guy

and much more!

Keeping in mind I love reality tv but will try to add some others. Some new shows that are starting soon or have just started are:

Scott Baio-46 and Pregnant: In the season finale of Scott Baio-45 and Single, Scott decided he is ready to marry his girlfriend, Renee but boy, does Renee have something to tell him! Minutes after he says his decision after all the fear he had with just committing, she tells him she is pregnant and that is where the story ended. In this new season, they show Scott's immediate reaction to the news-he yells and freaks out, steals a catering truck and breaks into his country club! Then he calls an emergency meeting with his friends at 3:30 in the morning so he can continue to freak out. That was just part of the first episode and I think it is great. Over the season, it will show him going to Daddy-to-be classes, the Doctor to see the baby and all the things he needs to do to get ready to be a Daddy! -VH1 Sundays at

Prison Break-This show premiered last night, Monday 1/14 at 8:00 pm on FOX! I think it has around 5 episodes before it will be affected by the writer's strike.

Americal Idol, starts tonight 1/15 at 8:00 pm and is on every Tuesday and Wednesday!

Celebrity Rehab starts on VH1, this Thursday 1/17 at 10:00 pm!

My Fair Brady-Maybe Baby?-VH1, this Sunday, January 20th at 10:30 pm.

The Terminator: Sarah Conner Chronicles-Mondays on Fox at 9:00 pm. I believe it has run two episodes so far!

October Road has been back for a couple weeks!

Paradise Hotel, which is a reality show but used to be my favorite one, is coming back February 4th after being off the air for around 5 years.

Big Brother is coming back early because of the writer's strike...February 12th.

Boston Legal's new season starts tonight, 1/15 at 10:00 pm.

Those are just a few of the shows!

Bakersfield's Ivarie family — David Ivarie, Nikki Hubbert, and Pam, Justin and Ali Dougherty — will appear on Family Feud next Monday at 11 on Channel 17, as detailed here.

Winners get to come back for up to five shows.

The Ivarie episodes are actually reruns, but we at Bakersfield.com are not going to go spoil things without warning, even if it is the reruns of a game show.

So if you want to not have the drama ruined for you, look away now.

NOW.

The Ivaries will win on Monday, and then on Tuesday face a family from Las Vegas. It goes to sudden death, and the Ivaries lose. The next day, the Vegans lose.
