Open Letter to John McCain: America Needs "Bailout" from Illegal Immigration

September 21, 2008

Senator John McCain
United States Senate
Washington, D.C.

Dear Senator McCain:

America is in the throes of an economic crisis of such grave consequence that former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan has described it as a "once in a hundred years" occurrence, which would make it potentially more devastating than the Great Depression.

In reacting to this once in a century crisis, President Bush and Congressional leaders have reportedly reached an agreement to take yet another $700 billion dollars of taxpayer money to purchase bad debt from failing U.S. banks and other financial institutions.

When implemented, the so-called rescue fund will increase America's public debt to $11.3 trillion dollars.

In addition to the latest trillion-dollar crisis, we Americans face other overwhelming economic challenges: Social Security and Medicare are reportedly headed toward insolvency. Democrats would like to implement universal health care (socialized medicine). Most of the nation's infrastructure is old and in need of repair or replacement, and our nation absolutely must achieve energy independence for both national security and economic security reasons.

Given the precarious state of the nation's economy, it should be clear that America can no longer afford to feed, house, educate, and provide medical care to tens of millions of foreign, non-English speaking peasants who have violated U.S. borders and laws and who have no legal basis for being here.

With all due respect, Senator, your advocacy on behalf of illegal aliens ignores the economic, social, educational, and cultural burdens that would be unfairly dumped on the backs of American citizens, most of whom are also taxpayers.

Illegal aliens currently here already cost taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars each year. Amnesty would dump additional billions onto the backs of overtaxed citizens.

Furthermore, "comprehensive reform" anything like the McCain-Kennedy proposals from the summer of 2007 would encourage tens of millions now living in Mexico and other points south of our borders to come here illegally, thereby further jeopardizing homeland security and adding more distress to American citizens.

Senator McCain, in light of the severe economic meltdown facing we the people, why not embrace a plan that immediately secures the borders, deports those here illegally, and requires an orderly and lawful process for all people wishing to migrate to America?

Why not a plan that respects American citizens and honors immigrants who stand in line, wait their turn, and follow the rules?

Why not a plan that is America First, even blatantly jingoistic?

Why not abandon that commitment to amnesty and replace it with a vow to restore the rule of law to our suffering nation?

Why not a plan to bail out American citizens from the devastation that illegal aliens bring to our homeland?

Thank you for your consideration, Senator.

Sincerely,

John W. Lillpop
Lets take down the Bird Feeder

I was rereading some of the old posts and came across this.....I have always enjoyed reading this and thought I'd post it again for those who hasn't seen it. I don't remember who posted it on TBC blogs. If it was you...thank you.

The Bird Feeder
Can you see the parallels...
I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. Within a week, we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food. But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tiles, the chairs, the table...everywhere. Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive-bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. And other birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food. After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore. I took down the bird feeder and, in three days, the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be...quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.

Now let's see...our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen. Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; you child's 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn't speak English; Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to press "one" to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than "Old Glory" are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties.Maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder!

Author unknown...

Palin's transparency proposal already exists in D.C.

Palin is uninformed on many issues....here's one

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (CNN) – Sarah Palin likes to tell voters around the country about how she “put the government checkbook online” in Alaska. On Thursday, Palin suggested she would take that same proposal to Washington.

“We’re going to do a few new things also,” she said at a rally in Cedar Rapids. “For instance, as Alaska’s governor, I put the government’s checkbook online so that people can see where their money’s going. We’ll bring that kind of transparency, that responsibility, and accountability back. We’re going to bring that back to D.C.”

There’s just one problem with proposing to put the federal checkbook online – somebody’s already done it. His name is Barack Obama.

Watch: Palin says 'Obama hasn't lifted a finger'

In 2006 and 2007, Obama teamed up with Republican Sen. Tom Coburn to pass the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act, also known as “Google for Government.” The act created a free, searchable web site – USASpending.gov — that discloses to the public all federal grants, contracts, loans and insurance payments.

In June of this year, Obama and Coburn introduced new Senate legislation to expand the information available online to include details on earmarks, competitive bidding, criminal activities, audit disputes and other government information.

Palin might also have noted that her running mate, John McCain, was an original co-sponsor of the 2006 transparency bill that became law.

UPDATE: A campaign spokesperson insisted that Palin was referring not to that specific proposal, but rather to "that kind of transparency in general."

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/18/palins-transparency-proposal-already-exists-in-dc/#more-19188

Appeals court upholds Arizona immigration law

Good news coming out of Arizona....California can learn A thing or two from Arizona...

PHOENIX (AP) — A federal appeals court on Wednesday upheld an Arizona law that penalizes businesses that knowingly hire illegal immigrants and requires them to verify the employment status of their workers.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision rejected a challenge by business and civil-rights groups that contend the law infringes on federal immigration powers.

The law, intended to lessen the economic incentive for immigrants to sneak into the country, imposes civil penalties on employers by suspending or revoking their business licenses when they are found to have knowingly hired illegal immigrants.

Link to Bush still hurting McCain, poll finds

The economy will sink McCain and Palin.....People don't want and don't trust McCain .....McCain represents the same old failed republican plan........

Candidates back to where they were before conventions, and Palin pick

By ROBIN TONER and ADAM NAGOURNEY

WASHINGTON - Despite an intense effort to distance himself from the way his party has done business in Washington, Senator John McCain is seen by voters as far less likely to bring change to Washington than Senator Barack Obama. Mr. McCain is widely viewed as a “typical Republican” who would continue or expand President Bush’s policies, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News Poll.

Polls taken after the Republican convention suggested that Mr. McCain had enjoyed a surge of support — particularly among white women after his selection of Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska as his running mate — but the latest poll indicates “the Palin effect” was, at least so far, a limited burst of interest.

The contest appears to be roughly where it was before the two conventions and before the vice presidential selections: Mr. Obama has the support of 48 percent of registered voters, compared with 43 percent for Mr. McCain, a difference within the poll’s margin of sampling error, and statistically unchanged from the tally in the last New York Times/CBS News Poll in mid-August.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26763744

California May Grant Illegal Aliens Driver's Licenses

When most States are passing laws to discourage illegal immigration good old California wants to pass laws to encourage illegal immigration......Senator Gilbert Cedillo ( D-Los Angeles ) Is a Traitor and a a** and is a prime example of what is wrong with California. Rewarding illegal behavior is wrong.....Cedillo is wrong !

September 15, 2008
FAIR - The California state legislature has passed a bill that would allow illegal aliens to obtain driver's licenses. Sponsored by Senator Gilbert Cedillo (D-Los Angeles), the California REAL ID Act of 2007 (S.B. 60) passed the state assembly on Friday, August 29th and is currently being considered by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. (KMPH, August 31, 2008; S.B. 60)

Schwarzenegger has vetoed legislation similar to S.B. 60 in the past. On October 7, 2005, the Governor stopped another Cedillo-sponsored bill that was "similar" to S.B. 60.

Parents Bury Latest Child Victim of Illegal Immigration............................."Tha t bastard!"

    by Dave Gibson

On September 10, the parents of 3-year-old Marten Kudlis buried their son at Fairmount Cemetery, after he was killed last week, while waiting for his ice cream in a Denver Baskin and Robbins.

An SUV speeding through the intersection of Havana and Mississippi, with Guatemalan national Francis Hernandez at the wheel, slammed into a pickup truck, which was then pushed into the ice cream shop´s window. The toddler was sitting at a table in front of that window, and was sent flying as the truck came crashing through it.

After the crash, Hernandez jumped from his Chevy Suburban and fled the scene. He was later apprehended without incident.

Marten was taken to the hospital, but died a short time later due to massive internal injuries.

The two women in the pickup truck struck by Hernandez were Patricia Guntharp, 49, and Debra Serecky, 51. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

KMGH of Denver covered the child´s funeral and reported that the first song heard during the service was Eric Clapton´s "Tears in Heaven."

In a heart wrenching display of grief and anger, Marten´s mother Marat Kudlis shouted: "That bastard!" referring to the illegal immigrant who killed her son. Between the tears, Marten´s father cried out: "I really loved him."

The rabbi conducting the service told the heartbroken family and friends: "This burden feels like more than we can bear because it is so sudden. It´s a parent´s worst nightmare. It does not seem fair and it is not fair to lose someone so young."

A teddy bear was placed in the tiny open casket which held Marten´s body.
