Ms. Easter, and her ineffective organization is an embarrassment to the Democratic party. Even their website is a joke. I wouldn't donate a nickle to them, even if that would defeat McCarthy, which of course they made no effort to do this year, heck they wouldn't even give Sharon Berry the time of day when she ran against Bill Thomas lite in '06. Go American Independent Party, I may pony up the $1,652 filing fee and run as Independent against the Cheney clone myself.

Since when is Ms. Parra not afforded the same rights as other US citizens? Since when does another "party" member have the right to tell Ms. Parra who she will or will not endorse?

Ms. Parra has every right to endorse (or not) anybody she pleases just like the rest of us!! Without repercussions to herself or any and all committees she is on! Democrat or not, she was sent to the Assembly to represent the people............ALL the people!

Nicole Parra has always been for sale. She was nothing but a third-rate aide for Cal Dooley until Democrats seeking a female Hispanic candidate pushed her -- along with a great deal of her support -- to the forefront. Democrats need to evaluate a candidate for more than a heartbeat and their race. Obama is another example where the candidate's ethnicism drove the candidacy rather than competency.

I really think that Parra, needs to stop acting like a hurt little girl and grow up! She needs to put her personal feelings aside and be objective and show some class. It just shows how immature and petty she really is, and what's scarier...was she got elected to a very important position... to represent the people of her district, not to use her notariety to bash Flores or his family, and/or avenge her father (He's a grown man, and I'm sure he can take care of himself). I really haven't heard anything derogatory about the Parra's from the Flores' camp (I'm sure the feelings are mutual, but they don't go around talking about it to the media, every chance they get)! She needs to get over it! It's just politics!

Do you mean they won't put money into some races? Parties do that for strategic and policy reasons all the time. But there's not supporting a Democrat, and there's actively working *against* a Democrat, and that's what the committee says Parra is up to.

This is what I dislike about partisan politics: the expectation that you will always support the party no matter what, even if you feel the candidate is poorly-suited for the position or you don't agree with the party on an issue. Regardless of the reason Parra doesn't support the Democratic candidate (I could care less about any family feud), it's her right to express her opinion. As Tom said, there may be consequences, but these consequences are purely motivated out of partisan, "us vs them" mentality and I'm frankly quite sick of that mentality when it comes to politics. Vote on the issues. Vote on the strengths of the candidates. Don't vote purely based on their party affliation (for candidates) or party endorsement (for issues). I guess this is why I registered non-partisan.

Hey Howeith, Kern County Supervisor positions are supposed to be "non-partisan" and therefore whether Rubio endorsed Maggard is irrelevant. California legislative positions like Nicole Parra's are political and endorsing party members does matter. You compared apples to oranges.
