Even though Refinery utilization went down by 1% to 86%. Supplies of Gasoline, Diesel and heating oil went up by 2.7 million barrels last week. Diesel is at a 26 year high level..

Sure Stocks of crude went down. But that is not because of a lack of crude. Nor is it because of a increase in demand of crude world wide. What it means is that Tankers are still not being off loaded to onshore.

Refiners are not buying crude. They are using stock piles of crude that they keep in reserve. When the hurricane season is over. You can expect to see a huge drop in the price of crude just like last year.

The best that speculators can hope for is for a couple of supertankers to sink to the bottom after a hurricane.

Something has to be done about the speculators. They are making a mockery of both the commodities market and the stock market. Your investments are in their hands. Prices will spike and drop when they wish them too.

Buyer beware. But Nabors nor any driller isn’t going to increase drilling in this market for a long time.

I must have an enemy somewhere.

Without Jason's knowledge. My IP address was blocked last night. Then my IP address was removed from my current list of address. So Jason could not find I had been deleted. Until I provided him with my IP address. He was then able to unblock the address.

I find the fact that the site was also raided by some vulgar individual last night, interesting.

Also my email address and password was used by 'Rick Martin' to create an account at KNZR.

But let’s also recognize that Reaganites blamed Carter. While the truth is that Regan instructed P. Volker to raise interest rates that lead to a horrible recession. This was a purposeful recession. Not one by accident.

Will you recognize that there were 2 recessions under Reagan. There were 2 housing bubble bursts under Reagan.

There was the single greatest one day stock market loss under Reagan.

Let’s also agree that the Bushites blamed Clinton for the 2002 recession..

There where 2 recessions under Bush. A war declared by Pope Paul as a unjustified war. A war neglected in Afghanistan.

Will you recognize that the current year deficit is a result of the last Bush budget?

Will we agree that even republican leaders have dismal records. If that happens to be the perspective you choose.

Let’s agree that that is a defeatist perspective. Let’s agree to question. But recognize that there must be compromise.

What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

Since the spring low. Over 480 of the S and P 500 have gained value. Almost 200 have doubled and about 40 have tripled. Will you recognize that?

Will you recognize that the rate of job loss has declined over the past months.

You have to like those number If you’re a wall street guy.

I personally don’t care about those numbers. I want higher CD, Treasury bill and savings account interest rates. I am not a gambler. In general what is good for wall street is bad for my savings account.

But I respect the fact that current economic conditions mean that a focus must be put on wall street. (because so many now rely on it for their retirement) And in the end improvement in Wall Street will help me and my family.

My concern is that these solutions must include stronger enforcement of current regulations and new regulations that favor home grown industry. And American companies over the multinational corporations.

Companies so poorly managed that they must use taxpayer money to survive. Should be nationalized. Reinvigorated and then sold for profit.

And we must realize poorly managed companies cause their own problems. The problems are not the fault of the taxpayer, the government.

Can we agree to recognize Government is necessary. It isn’t the bad guy. It is the taxpayer.

Government isn’t Republican. It isn’t democrat. It is the will of the people. (supposed to be anyway).

Lois’s column today points out that even in this verrrrrrrrry conservative republican area. Government officials concern themselves with the wealthy and the influential. Not the electorate.

Can we agree that if we don’t effect change in our own back yards. Change will never come to the nation.

Bush didn't completely dismiss the concerns of some conservatives but noted that controversial Education Department plans recommending that students draft letters discussing what they can do to help Obama had been changed.

"I think there is a place for the president ... to talk to schoolchildren and encourage" them, she said. Parents should follow his example and "encourage their own children to stay in school and to study hard and to try to achieve the dream that they have."

Bush indicated that she didn't think it was fair for

to be labeled a "socialist" by critics and expressed her disappointment with the intensely polarized nature of contemporary American politics.

Part of the reason for the polarization, she said, was the increase in the number of congressional districts dominated by either strongly conservative or liberal voters.

"We've seen that for the last eight years, certainly, and we're still seeing it," she said. "That's just a fact of life."

Bush conceded that after her husband was elected president, he was unable to replicate his success as governor of Texas in reaching across the aisle to Democrats.

"He was disappointed that that was not the way it worked out in Washington," she said. "I'm sure President Obama didn't expect it to be that way [either]. ... All of us need to do what we can to come together on issues."

Despite her husband's disappointment, he is "doing very well," she said. Both of them are now working on their memoirs, she noted.

Though the former first lady criticized the excessive partisanship of Washington, she expressed gratitude for Cheney's decision to vocally defend her husband's performance.

Cheney has been outspoken in his defense of the Bush administration's national security record, which has been sharply criticized on, among other things, questions relating to the detention and interrogation of terrorist suspects.

"I think that Vice President Cheney has every right to speak out, and I appreciate that he is defending" the administration, Bush said. "I think that is important. I think there is a place for that."

Bush also said it doesn't bother her husband that Cheney's "out there being critical."

The former first lady said her husband still speaks with Cheney occasionally. Multiple sources have indicated that the two men parted ways on several issues in the last years of their administration, including Bush's refusal to offer a pardon for former top Cheney aide Lewis "Scooter" Libby.

Libby was convicted on charges of perjury, obstruction of justice and lying to investigators looking into the leak that resulted in the exposure of CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson.

Though Bush expressed confidence that her husband will ultimately be remembered as "somebody who stood for freedom and who stood for the security of our country," she admitted that she's worried about the current situation in Afghanistan.

"I'm very concerned, of course," she said.

"All of us are concerned, and everybody, as they look at Afghanistan from around the world, really hope and want to [do] whatever they can to help the government stabilize, to see that the elections were fair."

Bush said she hoped people "will redouble their efforts" to help the country fend off Taliban and al Qaeda extremists.

She also repeated her outspoken criticism of the government of Myanmar, also known by its former name of Burma, which has come under fire for imprisoning pro-democracy activist Aung San Suu Kyi.

"She's always been held under house arrest [because] they're afraid of her popularity. They think that undermines their regime," Bush said.

"I hope that they'll see what she really wants. ... She wants [the nation to have] a peaceful transition to a democracy and to have the chance for Burma to really build itself [into] a very wealthy and educated nation."

After her husband's eight controversial years in the White House, what does Bush have to say to critics who believe he had a negative, destructive influence in the world?

"I would say that that's absolutely not right," Bush said.

"I don't think they have either the right view of him or what his responsibilities are and were as president of the United States."

She also criticized Washington's sharp political divide during an interview covering a range of topics including her thoughts on first lady Michelle Obama, former Vice President Dick Cheney, the situation in Afghanistan and Myanmar, and life after eight tumultuous years in the White House.

Bush sat down with CNN on Monday during a United Nations meeting in Paris, France, where she was promoting global literacy, a cause she trumpeted during her husband's administration.

The typically reserved former first lady defended Obama's decision to deliver a back-to-school speech to students, putting her at odds with many conservatives afraid that the president will use the opportunity to advance his political agenda.

"I think he is [doing a good job]," Bush said when asked to assess Obama's job performance. "I think he has got a lot on his plate, and he has tackled a lot to start with, and that has probably made it more difficult."

For 5 grand a year this is the health plan you get for your family.

A disgusting excuse for a even a catastrophic plan.

A 5000 buck deductible that is not counted against your 5000 dollar out of pocket. So that means 10 grand per year out of pocket. Plus 5 grand in premiums for a total of 15 grand per year. Only 5 grand of that would be reimbursed in the form of a refundable tax credit.

In patient hospitalization you pay 650 bucks per day.

30% co pays.

No maternity

You have to use in network providers. You can not just choose any doctor. Out of network doctors are 50% co pay and out of pocket goes to 20000 bucks with a 10 grand deductible not counted against the out of pocket expenses.

15 bucks or 40% co pays which ever is higher on drugs.

You should be ashamed of your self if you should think this is the type of plan that McCarthy and the republicans are offering for over 400 bucks a month.

I will say it again. The McCarthy plan is Christmas all year round for the insurance industry.

Some talk show hosts are advocating that parents keep their children at home on Tuesday if the school they attend plans to air President Obama's speech to America's school children. Even worse, selected school administrators in Kern County are going to relent to these whack jobs and refuse to broadcast the message.

Let's be real honest on what this is all about. Do you think that the same objection to a presidential classroom speech would have been made if John McCain had been elected president?

Obama is a Democrat and that is an alien culture in this community. I spent 40 years in education and can give countless examples of politicians addressing our students.

I have been in the classroom when Congressman Bill Thomas and his successor, Kevin McCarthy, have spoken. Governors have visited our campuses. George H.W. Bush addressed the children of America via satellite feed during his presidency.

I have welcomed state Sen. Roy Ashburn to speak to classes and have hosted panels of legislators discuss the values of the United States Constitution.

In 2000, as Superintendent of the Kern High School District, I introduced Dick Cheney to speak to some students at Bakersfield High School. It was part of a political fundraiser for the Republican Party.

What if I had said "No, you can't speak to the students, we don't want partisan politics in

our classrooms"? An outcry from the community would have ensued, resulting in a crowded KHSD board room. The furor might have been akin to something really important, like the elimination of junior varsity athletics.

And what does Barack Obama want to say to our children? The message and the speech are both available. It goes something like this: "Kids, be responsible for your own lives, stay in school. Do your homework and be responsible citizens. America needs you."

What a dangerous message.

You see, I do not blame the whack jobs. They are what they are. What amazes me is the educational leaders of Kern County who show no leadership.

I know you are frightened, but do the right thing, superintendents. If you really believe that all material in the classroom must first be screened, then you are morally obligated to be consistent in your stand and do the following: Eliminate all guest speakers; cut the newspaper along with all other media sources from the classroom; and make sure that all teachers are given talking points cleared by the school board before any class discussion ever occurs.

And for those schools that have a Celebrity Readers program in which community members select an age-appropriate book to read and discuss with children, you must cease and desist such a practice immediately.

Card-carrying Democrats like my wife and me have been sneaking in to primary classrooms and voluntarily bestowing our philosophy on your children.

`(E) require the use of a standard electronic transaction with which health care providers may quickly and

`(a) Standards for Financial and Administrative Transactions-

`(1) IN GENERAL- The Secretary shall adopt and regularly update standards consistent with the goals described in paragraph (2).

`(2) GOALS FOR FINANCIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE TRANSACTIONS- The goals for standards under paragraph (1) are that such standards shall--

`(A) be unique with no conflicting or redundant standards;

`(B) be authoritative, permitting no additions or constraints for electronic transactions, including companion guides;

`(C) be comprehensive, efficient and robust, requiring minimal augmentation by paper transactions or clarification by further communications;

`(D) enable the real-time (or near real-time) determination of an individual's financial responsibility at the point of service and, to the extent possible, prior to service, including whether the individual is eligible for a specific service with a specific physician at a specific facility, which may include utilization of a machine-readable health plan beneficiary identification card;

`(E) enable, where feasible, near real-time adjudication of claims;

`(F) provide for timely acknowledgment, response, and status reporting applicable to any electronic transaction deemed appropriate by the Secretary;

`(G) describe all data elements (such as reason and remark codes) in unambiguous terms, not permit optional fields, require that data elements be either required or conditioned upon set values in other fields, and prohibit additional conditions; and
