Catering Affairs has been serving Bakersfield and Kern County for decades with style and class unrivaled in the valley! We are proud of the food you will receive from our kitchen and our staff strives to present your meal in a way that makes a statement!

Catering Affairs' owner, Brenda Wright was born and raised in Bakersfield, and graduated from West High School. Brenda grew up loving food service and delicious food because her father, Charles Spickler owned the very first Sizzler Restaurant in Bakersfield! Brenda has six children and four grandchildren who she loves spending time with. Many of the kids also enjoy working in the kitchen, including Jarrod, the Catering Affairs kitchen manager and cook!

Jarrod was born and raised in Bakersfield. He graduated from South High School where he played football. He then went on to play football at Alan Hancock College where he was selected for Western State Conference Defensive First Team. Jarrod is married and has one child who has hopes of playing Hockey when he "grows up."

Jim has been working for Curtis' Catering Affairs for 30 years and has numerous friends and long time customers in Bakersfield. Jim was born in Visalia California where he later began his career in food service working under four chefs at the Lamplighter Inn.

In addition to our full time kitchen and office staff, Catering Affairs is also the home of many part time servers who have a passion for serving one-of-a-kind events for our clients. Many of these servers also have full time careers, but continue to serve for Catering Affairs because they enjoy the work we do!

We at Catering Affairs can serve your event in any location! We have experience at the Kern County Fairgrounds, The Noriega House, The Women’s Club, The Bayou, Dante Hall, Bakersfield Museum of Art, City of Bakersfield Fireman’s Hall, Kern Law Enforcement Agency Hall, numerous churches and countless backyards.

We have experience working at various reception halls and homes, and also have a mobile kitchen which allows us even more flexibility! Using our mobile kitchen which includes a walk-in refrigerator, ovens, and stoves, we have been able to serve meals on the river, in the mountains, and other locations where a conventional kitchen is not available.

In addition to our years of experience, we are a member of the International Caterers Association which provides us with training and education to keep our food and services up to date with the current trends.

The building that is now known as 24th Street Cafe was originally opened as Cy’s Coffee Shop in 1950. 24th street Cafe was established in 1987 by Mark Huggs a local third generation restaurateur. 24th Street Cafe has always been a happy place for hungry people!
