First time eating anyhting from Santa Barbara Pizza & Chicken. First time having Chicken on a pizza and it was not bad at all! The crust wasn't too thick or thin (hate thin crust) so again not bad. What at first appeared to be fried chicken, may have been baked, which is even better!

Had SBPC today for lunch, first time in awhile. I forgot how good it is.  Will be ordering much more often. Crust is not too doughy and not brunt.  Toppings actually have flavor, not frozen or cardboardy. YUM!

Just tried the garlic chicken pizza, and the first time having SantaBarbaraPizza ever, its great! The chicken had a smokey taste and the dough was soft and delish! First time but won't be the last!

I had never heard of Santa Barbara Pizza until last week the night before thanksgiving my boyfriend ordered their pizza for dinner, and it was one of the best calazones I have ever had!! When we ordered it we were told our pizza would be delivered within the hour, and we received within 30 minutes, and the delivery boy was very sweet. Oh and I almost forgot about the wedgies...AWESOME!!!

  • Lorene's Downtown

    4 stars from mannyb1

We was just passing through Bakersfield and someone recommended Lorene's. I was expecting the worst scenario ordering a Chile Verde Burrito at a coffee house, but that was the BEST chile verde burrito I have ever had and I have eaten plenty of them.  My wife only had a Chef Salad but she said that was very good. Our coffee was constantly refilled as we sat for a long time and discussed even loudly  with friends sometimes. Lorene's put up with us so they are very tolerant of noisy customer...

I have never had bad service or meal from any of the Que Pasa locations. I give Que Pasa a solid 4 stars.

  • Rosemary's Family Creamery

    1 stars from lafemmeriante

I've been coming to Rosemary's for as long as I can remember - after church with my grandparents, after high school football games with my friends, on vacations from college, and now that I've moved back I come for lunch with my coworkers.  No t any more.  I've noticed that for the last 6 years the service has been steadily declining. While their ice cream is still great (and served in huge portions - you can't finish a dish by yourself), it's not good enough to make up for the...

I have always liked Baja. The food is consistently good. I have never had an order come out sub parr. I have always had good service as well.

  • Que Pasa Mexican Grill

The service and wait staff are excellent.  However, the food is not so great and you sure pay for the mall location (expensive for Mexican food!).  We had the steak fajitas and the shrimp fajitas.  The shrimp were delicious however the "steak" was pot roast sliced and set atop a plate of soggy vegetables.  Not good at all.  The amount of rice and the guacomole on the plate were very minimal, again, especially for the price.  It's better to spend your money in the food court than go to this...

  • Magoo's Pizza

    5 stars from kharman

I live in Oildale and travel to this Magoo's to get my pizza, as it is head-and-shoulders above the Magoo's in Oildale.  The toppings are fresh and plentiful.

  • Golden West Casino

    4 stars from JulieBF

I went to Golden West Casino for the first time the other night with a few of my friends. I'm not a huge casino goer, but I had a lot of fun and it definitely changed my mind about playing in casinos. Normally I just stick to Texas Hold'em, but we were feeling adventurous that night and dedided to try playing a couple of games that were new to us. I can now say that I am a big fan of Pai Gow poker. It was really a lot of fun and cool to try something different. The dealer was awesome and incre...

  • Smith's Bakeries

    5 stars from pepper1933

I think that Smith's Bakery is the best in town. It cannot help the fact that "the neighborhood has gone to the dogs." Gas is no longer 30 cents a gallon and bread is no longer five cents. I am not as young as I once was, and not as nice, either. I do not blame Smith's bakery. Cheers.

Several reviewers have said it is the best restaurant for Chinese Food in Bakersfield.  They are right.  It is by far the best place for chinese food in BFL.  The food was excellent.  The orange chicken and pan fried noodles remind me of high end restaurants in China Town San Francisco or Los Angeles.  The fried rice was delicious also.  The service was prompt and the food was hot off the wok.  I will go back to this place many times.  If you li...

I love their Garlic Chicken Pizza! It's way better than the Me and Eds Garlic Chicken. The only problem I have had is that I don't like to wait for it to cool off when it arrives. I burn my mouth every time... but it's worth the pain. It costs more than Little Ceasars, but it dosn't taste like tire tread either. Worth the price.

  • Jimano's Pizzeria

    5 stars from tlchap

We have been a customer since it opened and we will never go anywhere else now.  Check out the wall of photos and you will see our granddaughter and our family. We love the games and colorbooks provided, and of course the wings and  pizza is the best and most original.  We brought our family from Italy there to eat pizza and they loved it and said it was alot like the pizza from Italy  !  There you go, it just couldn't get any better, but it does!

  • Smith's Bakeries

I grew up on Pacific Street in the 60s-70s, when the area was a nice place to live and Smith's was a nice place to go. I have great memories of my teachers at Longfellow bringing Halloween cookies from Smith's. My parents would bring home great treats on special occasions. My dad loved their plain doughnuts till the day he died. My children loved going to their grandparents house and we usually went to the bakery for a morning treat. My wife and I recently went to Smith's shortly before mom...

  • T-Bones Ranch House

    2 stars from Ouksman

I have read several poor reviews of this place.  Since they now serve breakfast I gave it a try.  The coffee is very weak and little flavor.  The biscuts & gravy had an off-taste, almost like a 'hint' of fish.  I commented to the waiter and he said the coffee comes in pack and they mix it with the right amount of water.  I commented about the gravy and he said it eats it all the time and it is good.  For me... First time and Last time.  Food is poor in flav...

Mossman’s catered my garden wedding reception. The service was impeccable, the attention to detail was outstanding and the food was delicious. I would recommend them for any event.

I ordered a simple, yet elegant, two tiered wedding cake. Not only was the cake beautiful, it melted in my mouth. Wedding guests are still commenting about how wonderful the cake was.  Thank you Smith’s for doing such a great job!

  • Rosemary's Family Creamery

Went there with a party of 12....Only 1/4 full...Refused to put two tables together for us so we could sit together, said we had to sit in a specific area.  Owner (Lady) was very rude.  She told us the wait would be 10 min. Got on my cell phone, called Marie Callenders, they said we could come on over for pie...no wait.  No more Rosemary's for us.  Will never go back.

  • Bob's Big Boy

Well this is not a very good review for the place as far as food or service, because when I walked in, I saw that they have no counter, Sorry but I like a counter as I am alone a lot of the time... I will take a Friend and try again sometime, as it looked clean and they had Lady waitresses...

  • Courtside Grill

    5 stars from dawson715

Tried Courtside Grill for the first time, and it was a great experience. The food was prepared to order - chef even made me something off the menu - Chicken Pesto Sandwich.  The sandwich was delicious. The service was great, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Who would have thought such a great place would be tucked inside the InShape Tennis Club on Ming Ave.?

  • Frosting Ink

    1 stars from crickitundmaus

i went to frosting ink today to get some cupcakes, and i just tucked into one and it was the dryest, stalest thing i have ever had. I got my husband a peanut butter ball wrapped in chocolate that was so old/stale it was crumbly (the girl at the counter said it was a creamy peanut filling) and tasted terrible. I got a cherry pie cupcake that was described as having a 'cherry filling' which i guess means they put a spoonful of canned cherry pie filling on top. after 4 years in pastry a...

  • Rosemary's Family Creamery

    1 stars from conniewoodruff

This is the most discusting place I have ever been.  It was so filthy, when I went to the restroom, my feet stuck to the floor.  Unless you want to be around a bunch of screaming kids and the mom's who take them there, avoid this place.  I gave it a 1 star because there was no rating lower than that.  The pimple face dorks, who wait the tables, have no business dealing with the public.

ba-ba-loney, service is GREAT! We go to Bakersfield just for the "Steve’s Banana Split", butter pecan, moca, &black walnut ice cream with marshmallow &whipped cream toppings, nuts &  a side dish of cherries. Don't get the bigger banana split "steves" is good for four normal humans, if this is not enough, order another one, or look around and see what others are having, point to and order "what they're having" forget the pastrami, unless you're on a diet, you should have stopped at "THE HA...
