Delicious food, but you need longer than an hour if you want to enjoy what you order. Love, love, love the fish tacos, but we had less than ten minutes to enjoy our food because service was so slow. We had an abundance of chips and salsa, but drinks were refilled only once during the entire time. I cannot give this restaurant a higher rate due to the service.

I love Jacalito Grill! As far as I'm concerned, they have the best Fajitas in Bakersfield, but everything I've tried on their menu is delicious. They're no longer on Auburn, and have moved into the old Tailgater's space on Truxtun. I miss them being so close to my home, but am looking forward to trying them at their new location.

Santa Fe Cafe is awesome!! Besides good service, wonderful food, and low prices, if you're a train buff, the location is perfect!

Some years ago I took my mom to Cafe Med for dinner. The hostess was rude, my dish with clams was full of sand (which is the result of improperly washing them), and the service was mediocre. When I called a day later to voice my complaints I was told that the manager couldn't take my call, nor did she offer to take a message. I did finally reach the owner and he sent me a $50 gift certicate to make up for the bad experience. But honestly, this place has become nothing more than a yuppie ...

Cafe Med, is it a real Mediterranean restaurant??? The first time I tasted their food was at "Brews in The Village" and it was very good... Second tasting was at one of Tobin James evening Gala's (a winery in Paso Robles) very tasty... So me and my girlfriend decided to have dinner there, we liked the fact there is no corkage fee, so we brought our favorite Paso wine. So now I'm going to make a long story short..... The worst service I have eve...

response to jgbakers: I apologize your sandwich wasn't to your satisfaction. one thing we try to pride ourself on is the amount of meat we use on our sandwiches. For pastrami sandwiches, we use .45 lb, which by weight is more than some of the other sandwiches. There is a slight bit of shrinkage due to cooking, but you can always double the meat for just $2.00 more. Also, we can always have the mustard placed on the side for u - it does have a little bite ...

I just finished a Hot Pastrami Sandwich and it was very disappointing. There was very little meat on the sandwich and the amount of mustard was overwhelming. For $7.00 I expected a lot more.

The one on Panama & Stine is bad too. They need new management asap. I'm never going there again.

My husband and I have been going to 24th St Cafe for so many years, cannot even remember. Mark is so nice, the owner, as is Larry and all the girls. The food is always good, and making friends at the counter is fun. Everyone should try it at least once, but you WILL be coming back, I promise

I always look forward to going there and do so regularly, for several years now. I love the blended drinks as well as the coffee and they are always served with a smile! I don't even mind waiting in line because it is worth the wait but you never have to wait for long. I always give a tip to let them know I appreciate their good service and products. They always seem to cater to their customers.

This is actually an Indian grocery store, where a sort-of lunch buffet is prepared daily. The food prepared is vegetarian and one has to serve themself on a paper plate with plastic utensils. I personally find the food to be overly spicy, but most of the customers at lunch are Indians, and spicy food works fine. The kitchen area is not clean, and the cooks are family members who do not adhere to covering their head or cleaning their hands in an appropriate manner. The Indians may not pay atten...

Being a very good Indian cook myself, I enjoy visiting and experiencing the cuisine that the Indian restaurants have to offer in Bakersfield. When Taj Mahal was the only gig in town, they were pretty good. Over time and despite competi tion, the quality of the food has deteriorated. I suggest for Taj Mahal to tighten their belts and get back into a competitive mode, as there are other gigs to go to...

An ex-employee of mine worked as "chef" here. This guy couldn't find his ass with both hands. I wouldn't eat at Cafe Med if you held a gun to my head.

Horrible, unbelievable and terrible service!!! We (6) ladies were there to celebrate a birthday and left feeling shocked and dismayed. The service was less than spectacular for a "fine" dining restaurant. Our server seemed overwhelmed by the three tables she had to manage. I and a friend(seasoned wine connoisseurs) decided on wine for our drinks...one ordered a glass of Merlot and I ordered a glass of blended wine. When the bill came the Merlot cost $6 and the blended wine cost $19.50...yes, ...

Good quality food, reasonably priced. One thing I like about it is that unlike other restaurants almost everything they serve is really low in saturated fat and cholesterol. Lots of veg-friendly options.

Pizza average to above average. Extra Large turns out better than Large. Very good for the relatively low price. Order-taking could use a little more speed, however. Wait in line to place order can exceed 15 minutes. Wednesday night Karaoke very good.

I was turned onto Loma Linda by a coworker. For the first time in his life, he was right on. Loma Linda is very good. I don't think there is better service in any restaurant in town. As for the chip and salsa are "to die for". Well , the salsa is good and the chips do come warm, but they are not homemade. They are from a bag. Shame shame... As for the rest of the food, it is standard Mexican fare. My wife bounces back and forth between the a...

Took my wife shopping on Black Friday. After a few hours of door busting, we started looking for some breakfast. Was suprised to see T-Bones opend for breakfast. We have never been there, so decided to give it a try. There were maybe 10 tables occupied. Not bad for 7am, so we thought it might be good. The only problem that we had was that there was just 1 waitress. She was also the hostess. She was trying her best, but it was too much for her. Coffee cups went empty for long stretches. Some cust...

The BEST Carne Asada and Chili Verde burritos in town! I've been going here for years! The Super Taco on E. Truxtun is the original and the best!
-
Great place to eat. I have been here twice and both times the food has been cooked perfectly and the service has been excellent even though it has been during busy times. The steaks are great and the lasagna is excellent. Absolutely recommend!!

Not sure what all the fuss is about. Very simple; terribl e service, mediocre food. Hard to believe that people wait in line for this place. This is another place that has been in Bakersfield too long and the owners have forgotten what good customer service is all about. and what puts bread on their table. This reminds me of another Bakersfield institution "RoachMary's&qu ot;. The waitresses and the manager did not care about the fact that we did not fit at the t...
